has anyone successfully done the battle of darrowshire? I spent the last hour trying to do it and we’re not sure how it’s supposed to work.
We were 20 people on our first attempt. 10 placed their relics at the well in the center of the town, mobs spawned, it felt like stuff that was supposed to happen happened. After the part with Horgus Captain Redpath first fought at the northern entrance to the town, then, after 5 min or so he went east from there.
And there he stood, we had two tanks defending him, occasionally he got hit by a nonelite for 200 dmg or so but mostly he didn’t take damage. So his HP very slowly went down. Most of the group was on the northern entrance of darrowshire, fighting the elite bloodletters that kept spawning.
45 minutes later Captain Redpath died. Because he ran out oh hitpoints.
I remember that quest taking less time but we didn’t know what was wrong.
In our next attempt with 15 players left only one player used his bag of relics and stayed near the well at the center of town, the rest fought the same way as last time. After Redpath was standing in his same position for over 10min with nothing different happening we decided to let some elite bloodletters near him, thinking we might have to kill them near him maybe, he occasionally got aggro and died within a few minutes.
Does anyone have experience of successfully doing this quest and can point out what they did differently?
Completed it successfully. One or two people placed the bag. Redpath was in the middle at the start, then went east and stayed there for about 15 mins. Then he went south a few minutes, then back up through town for the final fight.
Just did this quest, we tried every “suggestion” we could find on wowhead/old warcraft forums, none worked.
I think I manage to find the bug (in our case he gets stuck at the eastern front looking ahead and bloodletter spawning indefinitely).
If you do not clear the mobs to the east BEFORE he moves east, he’ll get stuck that way, we did manage to get him unstuck with the following conditions:
Have a the bag placer be at the well since they start
Aggro the mob (Bloodletter was for us) which Redpath targets to the well
This worked for us since he’ll then start moving back and forth as he should.
Another small softlock we noticed was that if you do not kill bloodletters fast/at the same time, 1 may spawn right about when the other die thus causing redpath to never “move on” and just fight for as long as there’s bloodletters.
