I’m not going to argue point-by-point although I could.
I’ll just say that you miss the mark entirely.
And whatever you say, the point remains, you guys behave selfishly and it’s ruining the bracket for everyone else. And ‘everyone else’ is the great majority of current casual pvpers.
And again, as I try not to get dragged into a pointless personal brawl with you, I have to remind myself that you can’t help how you are and that the real villain here is the deadbeat absentee daddy; Blizzard…who should fix their damned game.
You are ruining the game for me, just like I am ruining it for you, do you understand that? I don’t want to play with those who simply mixed up the button and queued for a BG by mistake. Or with those who don’t want to do anything. I’m not talking about those who have been playing for a while and play the way their gaming experience allows them to play, that’s fine. But when I go to a BG and there’s 30% just AFK for 30 seconds after the gates open… no guys, sorry, that’s not the game for me. I’m sure every player who plays in a team thinks exactly the way I described.
I don’t want to change your opinion in any way and you won’t change mine, that’s the truth.
I’m just saying that there is another point of view that is different from yours, but no less obvious.
I’m not quite sure how I’m ruining it for you but anyway…
That helps me to understand your motivations better. But I still don’t understand how you can enjoy rofl-stomping those people every game, hour after hour, day in, day out. Where’s the challenge? What’s the point in having a good team when you’re not facing worthy opponents?
Anyway, I think that we are now in agreement; you don’t want to have to play in the same team as all those players that you are characterising as deadbeats (i.e. don’t press their buttons, are afk at start of game and for other long periods etc., etc.), right?
Well, if you were in the ‘premades only’ 40 vs 40 mode that I am suggesting, you wouldn’t have to put up with them.
Problem solved?
(As an aside, I suppose that one major difference between us is that I am - mostly - happy to play with such an everyday average, casual rabble because, for me, the best 40 vs 40 experiences happen when someone whips that average rabble into shape and it transforms into a halfway-decent fighting force and an exciting battle ensues.
That happens often enough that it just about makes up for all of the frustrations that you mention. And in general I’m kind of proud to be part of the casual rabble myself.)
This “problem” will never be solved. The changes that you think will supposedly solve the “problem” may become a problem for someone else. There will always be dissatisfied people. You leave, others will come. Crying on the forum is an endless cycle.
Hypothetically, if my solution was introduced and there was a 40 vs. 40 ‘premade only’ mode with enough people playing it to make it interesting, and the other 40 vs 40 mode was strictly solo queue, would you try to circumvent the solo queue rules and send synched parties into it so you could keep enjoying stamping on disorganised casuals or would you be happy with the tougher, fairer fights in the ‘premade only’ mode? Assume that they’ve got the rewards structure right and both modes would give you equal rewards for the same amount of time played.
I’m genuinely interested. Same question to Larkus if he’s reading this thread.
…
EDIT: no answer, eh? Yeah, I thought so. Your unwillingness to answer that question speaks volumes as to the true motivation of epic bg premaders.
Be careful what you wish for. If you think EU region is toxic, you haven’t played the US region. The premade community there engages in harassment, stalking (of real life information), doxing, you name it. I love to keep it separate. Premade vs premade is fun, sure, but not when it escalates to personal attacks, doxing, harassment, drama, which is extremely prevalent over there.
You have an opportunity to Q with like minded individuals, and AGAINST like minded individuals, for a fair match. But you don’t want to do that, you want to curb-stomp people who are trying to gear up alts, and that’s why you Q for casual BG’s instead of Rated Battleground. Rated would be an equal, balanced match, and that’s something you are actively trying to avoid.
Why should I write the same thing 20 times?
There is a separate discussion thread about alts, where people are very unhappy with the presence of characters with 3kk HP in their team. They are the first to ruin the game for everyone else with their actual absence from the BG, however, you can read about it.
Yes, you may ask…
How should alternative characters dress?
Play in a team so that your absence is compensated by your well-dressed friend (oh my God , playing MMORPG with friends)
And this is not even the main thing, usually, those who complain that it is now impossible to dress a character because of premades have 34678754 alts and all they do the entire season is endlessly dress them, and in fact, endlessly ruin everyone’s games.
Do you know why I don’t care about such characters?
That’s right!
I have a friend who will replace such a bum on the battlefield, thereby compensating for his inaction.
Debating in the forums is one thing, but I’d like to remind everyone still reading these topic to please make use of the in-game suggestion tool as well. Even if you don’t have a solution to propose, use it to point out that queue sync premades exist/what they are, and how they’re killing random bgs and need to be addressed.
Chances are it is more likely to be relayed to the developers than a forum thread, especially if there are a lot of demands on the same subject. If you care about it, do it!
Every new player, returning player, or PVE player coming to try out a bit of PVP at the end of the season - they literally have no way of gearing up other then to queue for this. These people are not bums, they literally have no way to gear up for PVP then the casual matches. Ranked matches are locked for them, until they do.
If there was a viable way to get starter gear, and familiarize themselves with the PVP and their class, whatever. But there’s not.
Imagine a new guy who’s just trying out the game, he leveled up, and wants to check some pvp. Then he goes and queues into you guys for 2 hours straight. For many people very real experience.
I know you don’t give a hoot, but an MMO game dev probably should.
So there I am, innocently queueing up for a random Epic BG, iced coffee in hand, vibes immaculate… and who pops up on the enemy team? Oh look, it’s the usual suspects. Again.
At this point, I don’t even need the scoreboard, I could write the script myself. Same names, same cheap tactics, same “let’s ruin PvP for literally everyone else” energy. It’s like Groundhog Day, but with less Bill Murray and more “why did I even log in for this.”
Dear Blizzard: I love this game. I live for battleground chaos. But please, I am begging you, sprinkle a little matchmaking magic, swing the ban‑hammer, perform an exorcism — whatever it takes to stop this endless rerun.
Because right now? Epic BGs are feeling less like war and more like bad reality TV… and nobody signed up for Keeping Up with the Killstealers.
Much love (and mild desperation), —A very tired, very over‑it PvP girl
Sorry, Микайо, but I think there has been a misunderstanding. My question had nothing to do with your answer. I wasn’t asking anything about alts.
I asked a hypothetical:
If there was a 40 vs. 40 ‘premade only’ mode with enough people playing it to make it interesting, and another 40 vs 40 mode that was strictly solo queue, would you try to circumvent the solo queue rules and send synched parties into it so you could keep enjoying stamping on disorganised casuals, or would you be happy with the tougher, fairer fights in the ‘premade only’ mode? Assume that they’ve got the rewards structure right and both modes would give you equal rewards for the same amount of time played.
Like I said, I’m genuinely interested in your honest answer.
I have cancelled. This game isn’t fun and I won’t pay to be vicimised by cowards who need a stacked group to win. I shall keep my money and **** Microsoft. Not one more product from this god awful company.
However, you linked your comment to rogue comment.
You are blatantly manipulating terminology, thereby forcing people to agree with what you write. What you consider a violation is not one. That is why there has not been a single ban for playing MMORPGs with friends in 20 years. Words like: Abuse, violation, bypass, and the like do not correspond to reality. They are used only to discredit the company and the developers and have nothing to do with reality.
I’ve been saying for ages this isn’t that hard a fix. DOTA 2 has a “Strict Solo Queue” option where solo players can queue up and only face other solo players. It’s an opt-in sytem in the game settings. If you join a party it’s a ‘normal queue’ or ‘balanced queue’ meaning it tries to face you against a party of similar size and skill. It means longer queues but fairer games.
Hmmm. For me the link goes to my original question. Weird.
OK but you’re still not answering the question. I will rephrase:
If there was a 40 vs. 40 ‘premade only’ mode with enough people playing it to make it interesting, and another 40 vs 40 mode that was strictly solo queue, would you still try to send synched parties into the solo queue mode?
