I was getting a DLL error on trying to open the battle.net launcher (worked fine last night) so i then went through:
- updating Windows to latest available update
- restarting computer multiple times
- try to repair Battle.net launcher (would just get stuck)
- removed all Battle.net files from appdata, localappdata, etc
- start reinstall of Battle.net launcher from freshly downloaded .exe
- reinstall via administrator
- flush DNS
and still the installer is 1 very slow to install and 2 gets stuck anywhere between 40% and 55%
kind of at the end of my rope here in what to do, so any and all help/advice would be great.
running latest Windows 10 version 21H2

Me too. It started with libcef.dll error. Uninstalled but now it is not installing.

edit: now i realize that it is superslow not stuck.

here too, my Bnet decided to not work. i was able to reinstall it by eliminating it and then reinstalling, but idk what happent.
Got same problem today, after latest windows update.
I have the exact same problem as OP. Played earlier today, then everything worked fine. Logged out and went away for a few hours, now I get a DLL is missing message and the reinstall of the Battle App gets stuck at 55%.
This is not the first time I have issues with that crappy Battle.net app. Had the big DLL problem in March as well.
Im on a Win11 latest update rig.
I can’t even install the agent anymore….
I deleted the game, deleted the agent according to the recommendations on the Internet. Nothing works anymore!
Any information on what happened?
Have the same issues. On Mac so I belive it’s not an Win issue… must be something server side?

Same here, dll error first and now I am stuck in installation process.
Managed to get launcher reinstalled, but refuse to install any games. Just spinning logo of doom forever and ever.
Same problem here, had a .dll error. Tried reinstalling the launcher, took forever to install. Trying to update games now goes realy realy slow, and eventualy hangs before finishing. Seems the download speed is next to nothing. Guessing theres someting wrong on Blizzards end somewhere
Same confirmed working yesterday go to log in today with that error.
My game is fully install but i got an error ( Initializing … ) It never passed
i change a Internet. Remove and install battlenet . restart my network
but its still stick on Updating Initializing …
Cannot start BN Laucher too.
After many seconds a little window shows up and tells me to reinstall BN launcher …
Tried to, but didnt work.
Did not do anything spezial at my PC yesterday. Just shut down and restart today.

my room mates have the same errors that Sylasara linked:
had same on my computer.
it must be something about Bnet and not the computer.
i did manage to get it back preety fast.
Unistalled only Bnet, then reinstalled it and it did the trick. idk what to say to ppl that have download stuck.
hope that blizz could adress this if it keeps going.
I did a reinstall of Bnet and it works again.

I have the same issue.
Mine started when I was going to restart WoW and I was met with an update in the battle.net client. I tried to install the update but it was very very slow, like ~80 kb/s. I paused the download and resumed it and it initially went to “normal” download speeds but got stuck at ~80%.
I closed my battle net client with the intention to restart it but after that I got the windows error messages and couldn’t open it anymore. I then uninstalled it from control panel remove program and downloaded the installer from Blizzard’s website. For some reason the installer defaulted to RUSSIAN LANGUAGE to me, even tho I don’t speak or understand russian, or live in russia.
The reinstall progress is really slow, and I’m not even sure if it’s working because it really is that slow. Also the fact that it’s in russian is very sus.
I just wanted to pile on to let people know that this seems to be somewhat of a regular thing among the players. My situation is the same - Bnet app didn’t start, got the DLL error, tried to reinstall (got stuck), uninstalled and tried to install again several times. I’ve tried a lot of the same thing as others have - rebooting, powercycling, checking drivers, scanning Windows for corrupted files, etc. Usually the process to install gets stuck at 66 % but as I type this the current attempt is at 81 %, although I am unsure if it is stuck or not. It’s taking ages either way.
The only thing I think might be in common here is a Windows update during the weekend, but I’m not too sure. Everything worked just fine on Saturday and I haven’t touched the computer since then. All other games and programs are working just as they should, only Bnet stuff seems to be having issues.
