Be very CAREFUL before buying the boost!

Dear players!

I bought the Dark Portal Pass today and used it on a druid. :frowning:

The items provided are very much below average (a random mix of agility, spirit, stamina and intelligence).
It’s impossible to function in any role properly in any of the higher-level dungeons.
This means that you basically need to farm an entirely new set of pre-Raid gear in order to do anything fun during the Pre-Patch.

I was very disappointed considering the very high price of the Pass.
It almost seems as if Blizzard was making fun of me for supporting their products.
I asked for a refund.

Beware!

just wait for classic TBC and do some quests? the boost is not meant to give you full pre-bis or bis gear, so that you can start raiding in classic

When the expansion comes out, that equipment will serve you perfectly to level up in outland, and while you complete quests you are already choosing better stats for your spec.

So you can buy the boost and use it to get a lvl 58 in classic-era and not transfer it to TBC?

All they promised was a gear that you can start questing in Outlands. That’s it. Retail boost doesn’t offer you high level gear also so why would TBC one would? Did you realy expected an ability to purchase raid ready character for Classic Raids?

Seems so. Not uncommon to have this attitude as a boostie boi.

I know you’re just PSAing your experience, but is this for real? The boost gets you to 58, that’s a lot of time spent levelling to get to 58 that you aren’t having to do. And the main point I want to make is that it is level 58 ,and you definitely can play a role in those higher-level dungeons and you are overexaggerating.

I get the feeling ones are disappointed they didn’t get more stuff thrown at them. They were very clear on what you would be getting. I do not have any sympathy over your complaint.

You have 2 weeks to gear your Druid…do some PvP get the 5 set from there it shouldn’t take that long to do.

Boosted characters start out with the bare minimum it would be silly if they was geared to the teeth.

Tbh. You bought a boost, it had no promise to the gear. What you expect? The gear you get in retail is also pretty bad and costs 50 pound a boost.

The pricing was them making fun of you for supporting their product.

You won’t get one. Due to the fact you already consumed the product.

/world’s smallest violin.

Don’t worry. I’m sure Blizzard will soon allow you to buy epics from the cash shop, to save you having to put any extra effort into gearing up your character.

You can farm pvp gear from marks/honors… oh wait, you cant because they nerfed it to 1/10

Ohh noooo, you won’t be able to level up. Sad story.
