I bought the Dark Portal Pass today and used it on a druid.
The items provided are very much below average (a random mix of agility, spirit, stamina and intelligence).
It’s impossible to function in any role properly in any of the higher-level dungeons.
This means that you basically need to farm an entirely new set of pre-Raid gear in order to do anything fun during the Pre-Patch.
I was very disappointed considering the very high price of the Pass.
It almost seems as if Blizzard was making fun of me for supporting their products.
I asked for a refund.
When the expansion comes out, that equipment will serve you perfectly to level up in outland, and while you complete quests you are already choosing better stats for your spec.
All they promised was a gear that you can start questing in Outlands. That’s it. Retail boost doesn’t offer you high level gear also so why would TBC one would? Did you realy expected an ability to purchase raid ready character for Classic Raids?
I know you’re just PSAing your experience, but is this for real? The boost gets you to 58, that’s a lot of time spent levelling to get to 58 that you aren’t having to do. And the main point I want to make is that it is level 58 ,and you definitely can play a role in those higher-level dungeons and you are overexaggerating.
I get the feeling ones are disappointed they didn’t get more stuff thrown at them. They were very clear on what you would be getting. I do not have any sympathy over your complaint.
Don’t worry. I’m sure Blizzard will soon allow you to buy epics from the cash shop, to save you having to put any extra effort into gearing up your character.
