I over-aggroed alot due to low-level scaling, but I never pull packs of mobs ahead of the tank. The exception being individual mobs that die in 2-3 casts.
Again, if there is some behavior you do not like, you should say something first and most people will happily change their behavior to accommodate.
Let me guess, you would instantly kick someone if they were doing something you didn’t like, without first asking them to stop?
If it was a fully loomed-out mage blinked ahead and pulling mobs ahead of the tank, I might. I tend to err on the side of principle there (in leveling dungeons, I generally play assuming that someone in the dungeon is new or might not know the way or is learning a new role). I’ve played WoW since it’s release and at this point ever veteran knows that pulling ahead of the tank in very low level dungeons just to save a minute or two in total is kind of a dick move.
Normally, though, if it was a problem or annoying I would politely ask you to stop.
I don’t think that has ever resulted in a person changing their behavior, though.
You are free to believe whatever confirms your bias, dude, but I just heard 3 separate stories last night in Trade chat about people being randomly removed exactly before last boss, people I like and raided with ~6 years ago who never so much as farted in the wrong direction without the tank ordering them to do so first.
And my story for being kicked involved ZERO pulls before tank, I was the best silent well-performing DPS you can ask for in your group (assuming you don’t want Mythic raid geared people in 5-man normals during levelling!). As a hunter I also used Misdirection non-stop, just to make sure nobody out-aggroes the tank too.
Everything was just textbook boring tank and spank dungeon with zero issues, the only one being that the tank was 1st on damage but he was 60 and at ~250 ilvl and everybody else was 54-57. And then, exactly at the last boss, boom, removed from group while being #2 on damage and being zero trouble.
Maybe you should accept that petty people exist. Sad fact but a fact nonetheless.
“There is more to the story”, you say. Yeah I agree. The story being they are sad little bunch of kids whose highlight of the day was to troll someone.
I don’t belive that guy, and he even admits he wasn’t a:
Also, the people who generally come to trade chat to complain about things like this are the exact type of people who would cause problems in the first place. 99% of us just shrug and move on.
