Black Lotus and WSG Adjustments Incoming

Whether it was right, good for the game or whatever the fact is that the playerbase wanted to raid in a serious manner all the time.

It wasn’t anywhere near as hardcore minded on private servers or original vanilla so adjustments seem fair.

Either you’re trying to exaggerate what Blizzard actually did, or you think exactly what I said. All Blizzard’s fix resulted into was BL’s price falling down between 30 and 50%, at least on my server. Considering how high it was, I think the current price is a lot more fair. Or do you disagree that 100g for a BL is a fair price to pay?

BL hoarders and speculators were not part of the Vanilla experience lol. It’s just a form of gameplay degeneration which, unlike others we’ve seen in Classic, was being harmful to the game or at least heavily resented by the majority of the populace.

It is sad to see how October revolution of 1917 is repeated in classic WoW. Ofcourse people happy to see thieves fall. What wrong is assuming every honest player who kept their money in lotus as the only stable currency is a thief. Acting like you knew already that external intervention is possible. Saying that majority of players decide what is appropriate and what is not.
It’s just sad

Hoarders and speculators have been part of WoW forever.

That’s just sillyness

WTF are you talking about bro. If I farm larval acid now because I know there wont be a slug to find in EPL when AQ hits, you’re telling me that would make your gameplay worse?

Actually, Mr. Hard of Thinking, if the above wasn’t enough of an explanation for you, when AQ hits and you need NR gear you should thank me for killing slugs beforehand so that there is actually something for you to buy on the AH because you wont be able to farm them when you need them.

Reduce the price on edgemasters, every warrior wants to use them, increase arcane crystals drop to 50% per node. Whats the point in playing a game where the items you farmed or invested in for long suddenly just can change because people whine. Its like people think that the only item being hoarded is black lotus. If you would have tried to farm black lotus and not being able to get 1 per week, I dont know what you were doing. Problem is most of the people writing here tried to get BL for 30min then gave up. The ppl that saved them actually competed hard against other players, meanwhile you earned your gold in some other way. Ofcourse this is very unfair to the people that farmed black lotuses and stacked them.

Well, you can still hoard BL in the current situation, its price might still end up raising over the next month if AQ/Naxx make more ppl flask. All this change does is making it impossible for a restricted number of ppl to easily corner the market and artificially inflate prices.

You know which was the first country to approve a bill against monopolies? The US, in late '800, with the Sherman Act.

October revolution my butt^^

if you already have them, already farmed for what you want, and achieved it, then how are you losing out? other than being jealous / salty.

Pretty happy with these changes. Noice.

That’s not the sole result of the ‘fix’ though, and that’s the issue. The result is also the fact that we are now moving further away from Vanilla. In a game that tries to be as close to Vanilla as possible, this is a step in the wrong direction.

I have no clue what a fair price is or isn’t. Personally, I wouldn’t pay that much.

No it wasn’t, but it was the only item that people could control the supply for. Other items drop from far too many sources (such as Edgemaster’s), or they drop from instances and thus their availability is potentially infinite (Arcane Crystals, Dreamfoil etc), or there’re simply too many nodes to effectively control the entire production (Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom, etc).

The problem of BL is that its price wasn’t the result of simple market dynamics, but rather the unhealthy result of a monopoly enacted by a restricted number of ppl who controlled the whole supply so they could artificially inflate prices as much as they wanted, kinda like pharmaceutical companies IRL. All Blizzard did was changing BL so that their spawn nodes couldn’t be easily camped by the same few ppl anymore.

I could tell that much, given your previous comments :joy:

Arbet, was that comment serious? Do you understand that if I had 100 BL that could sell for 100x200g = 20 000gold gets suddenly nerfed into 10 000 gold that means nothing? So, what you mean is basicly: Everything that you farm needs to be directly used by yourself, never to gain any gold to stock up for later or just for the fun of having alot of gold to spend on boosts/items what ever you want. I dont understand if people are actually serious about this “if you just farmed to use for your own flasks you lost nothing” robot brains?

With a 800% more chance of poppin? Lol. The only reason why flasks are going to still be pricey is because the other plants, like Plagueblooms, Dreamfoils, and gromsblood are SKYROCKETING.

Thats a good point too. Blizzard, Edgemasters Hanguards is the be-all-end-all for warriors fury. Even human/orc warriors will have one of those in store in case they cant access swords/maces or axes.

Please Increase the drop chance of Edgemasters by 800% so fury warriors are no longer under the heel of speculators. Thanks.

Thats wuite a slippery slope you created. And i want to leave this clear, i dont really care about BL, the gold I have comes mainly from Arcane Crystal farming.

Do we even know how much would Blizzard increase the spawn rate of BL? I couldn’t find any sources.

There’s just a simple difference - the price of Edgemaster is just the result of free competition in a free market (nobody can monopolize all the Edgemaster spawns since they can drop from any lvl 45-50 mob, including instances), whereas the price of BL was being kept artificially high by a monopoly. The prices we’ll now see of BL are just the prices we’d expect in a free market where ppl actually fight each other over the price as they should.

I have no idea how this relates to the conversation at hand.

The convo was that all this change did was crushing the BL monopoly and bringing BL prices to healthier levels. And I think it has gone long enough.

You don’t like it? Just unsub or w/e, I couldn’t care less.

I’m not talking about monopoly here. And bringing this history event since its the one I have direct information about.
Basically my grandgrandfather was a wealthy yet honest man, who kept his money in lotus, was swallowed by the huge wave of poor and jealous people yelling about justice since they didn’t have any investments and were happy about equalization, like ITT
