How do these actually work.
I afk’d 4 spot spawn in Burning Steppes while working on other monitor.
8 hours - 0 spawns.
Running around Winterspring - find Blotus, return after 40 min and afk the 75 min timer. No spawn.
I’m confused and need lotuses for flasks.
They’re not guaranteed to spawn in the same spot twice in a row, so…
There are multiple spots they can spawn I heard the respawn time is random could be 5 minutes, 15 minutes or 45 minutes no one has thus far been able to give a definitive respawn time. I think Blizzard added this to stop people camping them.
However it didn’t work currently you could run around ALL DAY and not find a single lotus. The reason being is bots and lotus mafia. We currently have bots hacking under the ground and picking lotus/mining RTV on low level characters and then you have lotus mafia who are playing Hunter and Shaman using Eagle eye and Far Sight to track the entire zone in a matter of minutes while also having rogues in stealth at multiple locations so they only have to check certain spots then tell the other players on the team where the lotus is the moment it spawns.
This means that you and I as normal solo players have a very SLIM chance at finding one because if you find one then you can guarantee you just got lucky stumbling on it spawning and players from these mafia was on their way to that location.
The best time to farm lotus is just after the servers come up from maintenance as a lot of the bots and mafias haven’t had time to log in yet. I did it last reset and found 3 lotus within an hour.
It’s not something I can recommend farming it’s faster to make gold farming something else then buy them as expensive as they are that tells you just how hard they are to come by.
Lotus mafia and bots are fairy tale’s in my opinion. At least they don’t exist on the largest german pvp server where i am nor did i see evidence.
I found many black lotus, people from my guild found multiple, one after another and that many, many times in different area’s.
I farm them in Silithus regularly and never saw specific lotus bots. There are bots farming the beasts and it could be that they pick them if they are in very close vicinity per accident but they are sparse.
In my opinion people are a bit to eager to blame everything on bots and conspiracies if they think they don’t have the success they should have in something.
What i can say is that they can definitly spawn again after 15min in Silithus but the complete timeframe i’m still unsure about even after googling it many times. Waiting at one or two points won’t bring you much success with one charcter especially after they added so many more spawn points.
Sometimes i don’t find one in 3 hours farming sometimes i find 2 or 3. It’s all luck and how hard you try.
I can tell you right now they are not fairy tales.
I was one of the players that did the Flamelash fresh reroll and the first few weeks after we rerolled it was actually quite nice as you could find Lotus and RTV everywhere however when bots realised that 2000 players had started on the realm it didn’t last. I will say that these players in Lotus mafia may actually just be 1 person using multiple accounts but I know these players are picking them to be sold for cash.
Now in recent times it is impossible to find a Lotus unless you happen to be near one when they spawn. I have seen the tactics these players use as I spent many hours in EPL for an entire week in the early hours of the morning and there’s a guild called “Last Hope” that is made up entirely of Hunters and Rogues and I’ve seen the Hunters on top of the mushrooms at The Fungal Vale and The Noxious Glade using eagle eye to scout and I’ve seen rogues at Corin’s crossing and Tyr’s Hand usually about 8 of them online and also they are using Horde hunters to track Lotus as well as there always one at the bottom of The Noxious glade and I used hermes to ask him how the farm was going and he replied to me on an Alliance character in the guild I mentioned. But as you can see they have characters at every Lotus spawn or at a stones throw away which makes it impossible to compete unless ofc you stumble on one as they spawn as I said.
It seems the new bot class of choice is Rogue just do a /who search in EPL, Sili, WS or BS and you will see a bunch of 60 Rogues all unguilded.
Flamelash is probably one of the most dead servers in EU so you can imagine the competition of higher pop servers.
End of the day don’t delude yourself into thinking it’s luck your fighting against the odds when normal players are farming them but then you also have to compete with someone who has the entire zone locked down.

There’s not a 100% chance to have the spawn be the exact same spot twice in a row, it can be in another part of the zone.
