Blizz making game time changes

Can’t post link because TL not high enough. But someone else (probably a mod frequent poster on here or similiar) will do that.

‘’ We recently conducted a review on the available services in all currencies. Based on this, we have decided to alter the available Game Time options in the [Blizzard Shop ](http://shop.blizzard.com/). As of today, the Game Time options of 30, 90, and 180 days have been removed and Game Time is only available as a purchase of 60 Days.

|New Game Time Option|USD|
| — | — |
|60 Days Game Time|29.99|

  • Please note that currently, the options and pricing for the purchase of both WoW subscriptions and WoW Tokens will remain unaffected. Also, any Game Time that has already been purchased for an account will not be affected by this.

We appreciate that players choose to spend their time with World of Warcraft, and we are committed to ensuring the game continues to provide players with great entertainment value.

If you would like to review your World of Warcraft Game Time and payment method, you can do so through [Blizzard Account Management ](http://blizzard.com/account) at any time.’’

Posting before blizz on EU sticky appears itself.

They have already done this for British Pound payments.

I guess they want to cash out on those who are just “checking out whats new” every now and then. Perfect!

This is so damn stupid! Blizzard, you keep showing your resentment towards your players. Real bright move when you’re losing players due to the stagnation of SL.

This is worth highlighting before people lose their collective minds.

For the time being, you can carry on as per usual.

Buying Game Time is not the same as buying a subscription or a token.

They are different. They have different prices. You use subscription or token? Nothing has changed. For now.

So damn awful. Now if you pay your sub with tokens you have to grind for 2 months instead of one… Awful awful awful

And just to underline it completely:

Subscription - same as always:

Game Time - different thing:

No, the Token doesn’t change. Still costs 20 bucks, still gives 30 days.

Seems like a streamlining exercise. The UK was first.

The only ways i ever paid for WOW was with tokens or the 30 days gametime, bcs i was never sure how much il play and we all know all games like to have people who keep subs runing without playng, and i didnt want a monthly sub because the only monthy thing i got is my phone, i hate the aspect of being tied to something financialy, thats why the 30 days was great, because i could buy anytime and never forget to do so and pay for 30 days and not play

It seems like that. It’s obviously problematic if you sell the same product for different prices depending on the currency used – especially when those currencies fluctuate.

That doesn’t mean the change isn’t also to Blizzard’s own financial benefit, but it mostly seems aimed at closing an obvious loophole.

This is stupid AF, another way to tie down players with subscriptions due to the decrease in people playing. i think it was down 41%.

I agree the change is probably in Blizzard’s financial interest. Businesses generally pay to take payments. It’s part of their running costs.

This has nothing to do with subscriptions, the cost thereof, or the length of them. Your subscription options and prices and everything else about subscriptions doesn’t change.

I used to buy tokens with gold and then convert them to bnet currency, store the bnet currency and buy one month at a time. With this method I either use the token to get directly 1 month game time or pay 26 eu for gametime of 2 months I might not want to use. Still an annoying change…

So i can’t buy 30 day and i have to pay twice more, nice news.

You can buy a subscription for 30 days. Costs the same as always.

If you forget to turn it off when u dont play u pay for nothing, thats what they want its predatory af

Well it does have something to do with subscriptions, if you don’t want to be tied down with a subscription you will be forced to buy 60 days which cost more,
also a lot of people forget what they are subbed too and forget to cancel.

So which one of you are true?
