Blizzard continues to successfully ignore Pandaren

Yeah yeah, nobody plays Pandaren, Mists killed Warcraft, funny Kung Fu Panda meme here. Get it out of your system.

But seriously…

The issues with Pandaren both in gameplay and in lore are just piling up. First some time in WoD or Legion our character textures break and never get fixed. We’ve been living with this weird neck seam for some 8 or 10 years now with no fix despite countless players having reported this over the years.

In BfA, Ji and Aysa get relegated to glorified welcome committee positions at the faction embassies and their respective philosophies, especially that of the Huojin, gets completely ignored. “Injustice must be met with a swift and decisive response. To the Huojin, the ends justify the means.” - Do you draw the line between injustice and means before or after Teldrassil? Ji didn’t even have anything meaningful to say about Baine’s arrest other than effectively “It is what it is.” contrary to his very philosophy.

In Shadowlands, Pandaren received some of the most meager customisation options, the body type 2 options taking last place while body type 1 is second only to Forsaken and body type 1 Blood Elves.

Body type 1 Orcs have 92,723 times for possible combinations of customization options than body type 1 Pandaren, and 832,963 more than body type 2 Pandaren.

And that is not just including the 3 new hairstyles, hair colours and 3 new skins, the latter of which scream “Oh dang, we don’t have any skins for Pandaren. Just make the DK skins generally available.” It also includes the body type 1 beard and mustache options they split up from the previous facial hair selection.

And now, when the specific questions about issues with the Pandaren model receive a substantial share of likes on the Q&A thread, Blizzard still continues to successfully ignore their existence altogether.

Pandaren are not beloved by many players, but they are beloved. It’s a shame Blizzard does not seem to feel the same way.

Ok relax. They don’t have as much as humans and night elves anyway lol. Dracthyr tho is miles ahead of everyone.

Anyway… You’re right though in general. Some races like dark spear trolls, Pandaren, etc. are very buggy and have low amount of choices

Morcs are currently the undisputed number 1 in terms of possible combinations with a 200% lead over body type 2 Night Elves and a 900% lead over body type 1 Night Elves.

Looks very outdated, but anyway. I agree with you that they need to stop making allied races with extreme customization before fixing what we currently have available

Did Night elves get any more customizations since Shadowlands? I’m not aware. This is from the start of Shadowlands, after the first wave of new options.

Just open your character customization and compare lol Also, amount of combinations is not reflective of quality anyway

Our short bros deserve more customization options as well but this is about more than customization :pray:

It’s about Blizzard not forgetting that people play more than Orcs, Humans and Elves, and Gnomes kinda had their turn in BfA.

Pandaren were a joke as was MoP that became a thing. While people think it’s catered towards East Asians, while in reality that were the Blood Elves.

Dracthyr are gonna die off the same way although for different reasons.

You have other races that only only cater to a specific sub-group of humans like Worgen, Gnomes and the foxes. They have actually no substance other than existing due to these people. I’m gonna guess Pandaren had the same draw as the other 3 races I just mentioned, but I’m gonna guess the lack of identity is what made them DOA in the first place (joke race in a joke expansion).

Now don’t get me wrong. MoP was great but it could’ve been just the same without the Pandaren as a playable race just like the other expansions we have with unplayable races like Naga, snake or the mole people.

Draenei get a spotlight because they are essentially Tieflings in the WoW universe.

I think Pandaren are specifically inspired by chinese culture, and afaik lorewise they existed for a long time. They were part of this story, where the zandalari trolls allied with the mogu to fight some old god I think

They allied to conquer the world, but didn’t get farther than Uldum. There was nothing about Old Gods in it.

to be fair op they barely even know that firepaw exist you want them to remember the whole race :smiley:

I mean Ji Firepaw is on the council yet he never gets a moment to shine its always the other races all he got for his alligence to the horde was getting the stuffing beat out of him by garrosh’s gones

Pandaren customization options really do suck, esp the fact that they all have the identical face.
I dont know why they cant do something like they did with Goblins and make muzzles and ears seperate, giving a ton more options.

To me it seems that Blizz is slowly getting around to the different races one by one. :slight_smile: Starting with the most played races first, and then working their way down. Which is most likely also why we see NE get new things more than frequently. :sweat_smile:

But yeah, all races should receive more expanded customizations. “Even if it is a Pandaren or a Gnome”. :joy: (sorry couldn’t help myself)

Atleast Pandaren have a ton of options in hair, fur, and face options from what I can see, with about 20 options for each. But I get wanting new options. :slight_smile:

I think the races that are REALLY suffering atm, are the allied races who have yet to get new options… Since they have 6-7 options in each. :face_with_head_bandage: Especially Kultiran and DI Dwarves are bad…

i think they need to remake pandaren model, their lore is very cool and their art is actually enormous dangerous bears with claws, look for example at promo mop art and announcement cinematic.
While in-game male model is funny pandas, atleast females look cute
