Classic Blizzard once again. One step forward, two steps back.
If addons like bigdebuffs or other nameplate addons that provide critical information you need to make snap decisions go then the game might actually be cooked.
The base UI is just too slow and inefficient to deliver this information to you, someone uses an offensive burst CD in arena, you react 1 second too late because of screen clutter and no information, you just die, zero response, can’t recover, dead from 100 to 0
A boss in a dungeon is casting a ability you can interrupt but is targeted and isn’t some big stomp/slam, you see it one second too late because the information was very small or poorly communicated, dead, no response, can’t react
It’s actually terrible. The base UIs rate of information has to be 1/10th the speed of most combat info addons, if they go idk, the game will just feel jank in every combat scenario, people saving cooldowns for next expac, missing obvious kicks, getting domed from space “huh what happened” only to learn after the fact from the combat log. Just all around terrible
Are u aware that we are getting a new ui next exp right?
Btw none of the examples u posted has to do with blizz ui, iirc tournament arenas are played with default ui, bosses usually triggered their abilities after reaching 100 energy, some effects or a voice-line. and in regards of ppl holding cds and interrupts is a thing that will still happen, know why?
Bcs the game over the years has teached players to react to auras instead the game itself, now blizz tune down the pace, make all clear so u dont need to rely anymore on those addons and ppl will call for a unsub…
Pretty surreal that at this point is blizzard again the one to blame.
These addons make it easier to do stuff without the use of voice chat, what they are doing is forcing everyone to use voice chat to communicate they used interrupt, communicate events, because voice chat in such a way always can make everyone focus, while right now addons do that, so people with social trauma that simply do not want to engage in voice chat cannot do bleeding edge mythic+ in midnight now because these addons are effectively gone ?
And do not tell me Blizzard can make alternatives for these addons we all seen thru the years they haven’t done that for years, they are trying and they doing a good job so far but its not there yet, killing off addons is a huge mistake eitherway they should hire these addon developers instead cos they are doing good job and know what they are doing.
Blizzard right now tho seems to take wrong path, without these addons people have to resort to using voice chat for example report their use of interupts communicate events what about those that have social trauma and simply do not wish to engage in voice chat, you just gonna take away addons for them ?
If always been against banning addons, but it feels like they being treated as such as if they play the game for us however they do not, and most people here know that.
For me its just a way to track my own defenses and abilities and have sound cue’s for when i gain a buff or have a cooldown ready etc, whats wrong with tracking my own stuff ?
As for tracking interupts nothing wrong with that, you take that away people will be forced into voice chat, not an option for everyone as i have said.
Hate the direction they are taking right now with addons its complete over reaction and will make the game worse.
It’s the right way alright. Should have been done some 20 years ago. But I suppose they didn’t really know how the game should play back then so they opted to have the community steer. Needless to say, the community just made it as easy as possible; disregarding how a game is built and how the gameplay needs to be to be exciting and fun.
It wasn’t the best way, I think, but I also think that they’ve learnt a lot taking that path.
Today they know better and that’s great.
And for those who only have 1 finger and no eyes but still want to play mythic+ and are entitled to:
You don’t exist, so no worries.
Blizz’s UI is trash, and still is after all these years despite “adopting” what addons have done infinitely better.
Been playing since late TBC, and changing the game’s UI was one of the first things I did not long starting into…
At what point will Blizzard come out and address the fact that the pruning and removal of addons has been the most talked about and hated change in the last decade exactly?
All for the sake of a lie that things weren’t accessible enough.
What makes me angry(?) about the whole thing, is that many Tony Starks tried the make solutions in their caves for problems that Blizzard ignored, decades ago. And now Blizz take these ideas as their own (like customisable UI in DF), pose them as some new, never seen, gamechanging feature that they alone come up with.
it was always so.
these words you write here… do you think these are yours?
if you delete your posts, you get a minute of contemplation after a while.
having deleted enough posts, you get a 12 hour lockdown.
these are blizzard’s posts that we have given to them, that’s how they see it.
you’ve been giving ideas to blizzard, feeding them with work and ideas both, for 20 years.
have you looked at social media? do you think that’s your words? you’re a product and they use whatever you make for their purposes of profiting, in whatever way they can.
you’re angry at blizzard for taking control over their game.
it’s something they should’ve done a long time ago.
it will be awesome playing the new style where i don’t have any mandatory pickups.
a game has to play well on its own, otherwise it is an incomplete game and can’t be sold.
obviously it was sold, however, but that’s besides the point. anything can and will be done, including theft of intellectual property, such as ideas, without ever crediting anyone in particular for it.
and this is the reason why anyone who has production capacity should be allowed to produce, and that all intellectual property should be free to use. then thievery is open to everyone, fair.
yes, i included some proselytizing with my copyright ideas. it’s very contemporary to chuck ideas at people.
And it’s still not going to be as good. Some tools like omnibar are literally required unless you are a savant that can keep track of the cooldowns of like 20 different critical offensive and defensive CDs in your head while playing well. As far as i am aware blizzards ui tracks your own abilities, not the abilities of other players
And the problem is their UI, it doesn’t tell you these abilities have been used, some abilities like wings, sure, HUGE glowing yellow wings, impossible to miss. Other abilities like Sharpen Blade, Shadow Blades, Bestial Wrath, Berserk, etc have super tiny effects like their weapon lighting up slightly that gets drowned out in the particle noise, or their face gets a little angry emote from bloodlust with bestial wrath, these are IMPOSSIBLE to make out from the characters in the midst of combat and unless you respond in <1 second with an ability of your own you are dead. It won’t work.
Or in PVE, should you pop your wall as a tank? Did the healer use their big healing CD before you so you should save it? Idk, shaman link totem is visible, don’t need a UI for that, but as for something like resto druid, sure you can make out if they are a tree, but as for what hots you currently have applied that should infer if some series of abilities have been used, that takes seconds to decipher, when omnicd just told you “healer used ability X” in <1 second
The rate of info on blizzards ui and the base game is just too slow for how quickly you need to respond to things in modern wow
Rip bozos and good riddance.
New solutions are already worked on, don’t worry. The more strict Blizz will be, the more powerful tools will happen. Also, blizz will make updates that should compensate and streamline stuff.
Addons are nice and all, but the industry needs these impulses in order to evolve and deliver.
No hysteria needed pls.
U are still giving bad examples that contribute zero to the combat.
Knowing what spells did or didnt use other players like cds (something you can see trough animations) interrupts ( u see insta that the cast was stoped) or defensives (icons in the party frames and tanks in their buff frame) is still irrelevant, cos in a pug environment players will use their things whenever they like and in a closed comp they will communicate trough discord/whatever they are using at the time.
As i said, it seems you dont like to read what i commented above, combat pace is gonna be SLOWED AF, the amount of cc`s as long as i hav seen is not reduced, and the class utility has been even increased, the duration of interrupts increased and the visual clarity inproved… so ppl can adapt themselves again to get info though the game and not being watching auras pop like a brothel mid Amsterdam.
Is gonna be 1 day adaptation? no, are we gonna tweek the ui few times till we get what we want?, yes, will blizz keep adding things to the new ui, yes…
Is time to get rid of this never-end catch of making combat harder due auras and play the game through the game, if you think its not possible to get that lvl of combat clarity with a ui default game ui and “iT wIlL nOt WorRK BuhbUHbH” see WRF raiders like echo clear Ultimates in FF14.
Sure, in heroic dungeons or random battlegrounds nothing matters and you have 5-10 seconds to react to everything, hunky dory. But for higher end gameplay, arenas, m+, heroic/mythic raiding, you need to react in SPLIT SECONDS, the base UI does not provide the information that fast. And if you don’t react within a second you just get deleted 100-0, that is how the game works
It doesn’t matter if YOUR rotation is slower, when you need to react to something external, that you can’t see or hear properly, within a second or you are deleted.
Blizzard is not going to bump the rippy tiers of M+ keys from +12s to +25s in Midnight, nor will they increase the TTK in PvP from <3 seconds to 20 seconds, they are not going to make Mythic Raid mechanics so lenient several dps can mess up and the fight goes on, one dps will miss something and it’s a wipe. People will still get deleted before they can blink, and now it will be because they couldn’t even make out what happened before it’s too late.
Shockingly, despite the endless flood of doom and gloom, humans adapt surprisingly easy. and nerd does even more so!
Who knew, right?
I see you are a dense one, so no problem my dude, im gonna repeat it to you;
COMBAT IS GONNA BE PACED DOWN
ANIMATIONS AND COMBAT CLARITY ARE IMPROVED
CAST ARE LONGER AND INTERRUPTS DURATION INCREASED
IMPORTANT CAST WILL BE SHOWED IN NAMEPLATES
I see here no problem at all, if you are a slow one that cant read information pls for God Sake, stay away of cars, cos when you drive through the highway, you dont get a signal each curve, only for important things, you dont hav a pop-up above the cars with their fuel lvl and speed, nor their destination and cargo.
Overinformation is bad when we need to focus, and in this game has been standardized over the years, like a said, to catch up the increase of difficulty the game has increased due addons.
So yes if i think most the population can drive a car we can play with a default ui, so rip bozo and good riddance, keep the the burning on.
They said animations for raid bosses will be clearer.
How do you suppose they should make it more obvious that someone used sharpen blade in PvP for example? It has zero cues right now.
Yes, you could make the icon bigger on the nameplate, but again, the current blizzard UI has no way to set a priority, a routine offensive CD that is part of the rotation or a CD that is so important you need to react now or you’re dead are both just counted as offensive CDs in their base UI, there is no way to prioritize them, or to have again a priority system like omnicc or bigdebuffs where you have a display order like immunities > breakable cc > offensive cd > defensive cd etc. Not every cooldown has super obvious visual cues like wings, voidform, metamorphosis etc, in fact most have barely any visuals at all.
At the current pace, to have all this very critical functionality, people will simply be without good information for years, i would assume maybe in 2035 or 2040 these functionalities would be added to the base UI since it took them over a calendar year, to just add the option to remove or add buttons of your choice from the cooldown manager.
That is simply unacceptable gameplay.
I don’t care about combat being slowed down, i never mentioned that. My problem is with information not being displayed, Blizzard is taking away information, and won’t replace it with something similar. Players will simply lose knowledge about the game and gain nothing.
All that sheit you wrote up there changes not a thing of the fact that:
When i use spell-reflect for a cast, my weakaura pop-up a message, players get a whisp, icons are showed to - Do not interrupt- omnicd shows my spell reflect being used and a Shield animation is showed upon my head… and know what??
MF`s keep interrupting and wasting my cd.
Nah ma dude, you are way too coped to get it right and to know what im talking about, as i said, a real dense one that doesnt know where the problem is.
Good bye in case u unsub, and if not good riddance.
They are literally working together with them.
They’re not disregarding them at all.
