A year ago, Ion Hazikostos spoke of uniting all elves, but now everyone seems to have forgotten about it, and they won’t even let the High Elves into the new Silvermoon! Shame!

Are High Elves here in room with us?

Vereesa, our Queen, the High Elves will be great again!
We are hated on the forum, we are hated by the horde and the blood elves, we are hated by the developers, but we will endure all trials and become stronger!

I kind of understand the Silvermoon thing but - why is there no presence of High Elves on the teaser? And almost nothing about Void Elves except the Demon Hunter class.

Me after I get some troll voodoo.

Because the high elves became the blood elves.

There is only a small handful of high elves that remained in the alliance after WC3, and those were mainly aligned with either dalaran or unaligned. Blizzard doubled down on that when they gave blood elves blue eyes in order to appease the people asking for that customization in order to have their “high elves”.

Because Maria Hamilton (the granny with glasses) hates High Elves
And she created new ugly elf-trolls, which became a new race, replacing the High Elves and the Trolls of Amani

Can we just chill for a moment please?

Yes they talked about elven reunification but they did not just keept high elves out of the picture.

There where no other elves. Not even void elves.

Just wait until we know more cause we know barley anything right now

And to be honest the whole reunification will be much much better when it comes later and we get to actually see the different elve tribes work together and talk things out instead of it just being a thing at the start of midnight

You are not hated

Like I told that other high elve fan the other day most people just have a problem with it when getting high elves means give us as much from the blood elves as we can get.

Yeah I’m getting that impression as well.

The way I thought of Midnight was that it would be a frontline of elves standing against the void. And we’d see all the iconic elf characters line up and work together.

You know, an expansion set in the elven land with the elves being front and center of the action.

But after the announcement that’s not the impression I’m getting. Not at all.

It feels more like a hodgepodge of themes. There are some Haranir leftovers from The War Within, and then a Troll zone that seems very isolated and one-off, and then a void zone that seems to relate mostly to the mystery of Xal’atath with some Ethereal cross-over.
The actual elf part of the experience seems to just be the Eversong woods and the Sunwell raid. And once that’s over it doesn’t really seem like there’ll be more to it then. Subsequent patches will likely see us leaving Quel’thalas for some island zone far away that has nothing to do with the elves.

I think Blizzard have shifted away from the initial elf pitch that Metzen gave at Blizzcon toward something that’s a bit more here, there, and everywhere. Likely because they have a million different plotlines going on that needs to be furthered, so everything can’t just be elves.

I really did like the idea of an expansion just revolving around Quel’thalas and a void invasion. It doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards though…

I am sure she will appear. I also think Sylvanas will return in a later patch. Remember, not everything is given on release, we have a whole expansion to look forward to.

Just go to my thread
There is hatred and ridicule :pensive:

As a non-elf,

we’ve had enough of the elves.
Can we have an expansion NOT about elves?

(I’m totally an elf with fur, cause I have pointy ears)

That’s the toxic side to the High Elf fanbase.

High Elves must NEVER come at the expense of Blood Elves. Blood Elves are the core race…the main race of the Thalassian Elves.
High Elves must work around that.

I, as a supporter of playable High Elves, know exactly what it takes and the fact that we’re not getting High Elves in this is a great thing because it means they can be introduced properly as an independent race with their own nation and laws.

I was in that thread.

I spoke up against you too.
But only when you started to demand high elves to get blood elves stuff like getting silvermoon

ANOTHER ONE OF THESE?

guys come on

Isn’t it possible that the unification, and therefore reintroduction of any “missing” elf characters, will happen at 12.2 and not 12.0? If that was the case, which makes sense from a storytelling point of view of uniting different parties after they have overcome an ordeal, it would explain why Vereesa and others are missing.

I mean, the theme of the expansion is Void vs Light and we haven’t seen any Lightforged Draenei either.

Possibly, but the sneak preview of Windrunner Spire…it looks like somebody has been keeping that place nice and clean, but also - very High Elven.

Has Vereesa Windrunner returned home to Windrunner Spire?

I still see her in Shadowlands on the 2nd floor with the flight master.
