Disclaimer: this might not even be a change and simply be a bug fix. We just could not find 1.12 vanilla evidence for it.
Right now, buffs on pet continue ticking when pet is dismissed or when you log off (it doesn’t for buffs on you, obviously)
BUT debuffs do linger. If your pet get sheeped or feared and that you log off or dismiss pet, it will still have debuff when you summon it again or log back on.
It seems weird to me that buff and debuff work in a different way, but ofc, this is not a hard proof.
Now, I could not find specific evidence regarding buffs on pets in vanilla (confirming or denying it). I could only find talks about DEBUFFS on pets. Having world buffs on pet on a not-so-great-pve-class in vanilla wasnt something people paid attention to I guess
The problem: : this behaviour prevents absolute minmaxing for hunters in pve.
The solution: similarily to how debuffs work, make BUFFS timer pause when pet is dismissed/character is logged off.
this would:
-Give way more viability to mm/bm spec for pve.
-Would give minmaxer even more content
-Would make pet control more important (getting your pet to survived is not easy on some bosses)
Blizzard already gave hunters a small boost with world buff AP now applying to ranged AP aswell. This would go in the same direction.
Alternatively, it could just be a bug fix - if blizzard could atleast confirm it, It would be really appreciated
