Blizzard I implore you to.. please stop this madness

Blizzard, please stop showing people that use the battle net app as “online” or “away” in the friend list. It ruins the entire friend list because when you look in your friend list you see people on Mobile and that way you don’t really get a good feel for how many people are actually playing.

What other sites like FB do is they do NOT show people as online on the phone, they simply put a tiny mobile icon next to them. Show people who use the app as OFFLINE but put a phone icon next to their name. The vast majority of people do NOT want to be seen online when they are on their phone. I even know alot of people who put themselves as AFK all the time just so people cannot see when they actually go on the app to reply to someone.
So please show people who are NOT on the PC as OFFLINE and show how long they have been gone from the PC like you do with normal offliners.
Just because you have a text app on your phone it doesn’t mean you want to be shown as available ingame.

huh? in my friendslist everyone who is actually in game is shown at the top, then come the ones who are on their phones and then the offline ones. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

and that is the point dude. people who are on their phone logged in are OFFLINE and should be merged with the offline and also shown as OFFLINE (grey).
it gives you the wrong idea if you look at the friend list and you see green icons on mobile users since those people are not actually on the PC.

there literally is no reason whatsoever to show those people in a list of their own with a green icon. they are offline but they can MAYBE reply to your texts. that doesn’t mean they need a green icon. just give them a phone icon like on FB and show them grey and as offline.

but it doesnt matter if they re shown offline or mobile-online when you got the ones who are in game at the top anyways. :woman_shrugging:

phone icon or green icon, doesnt make a difference, its literally the same thing.

I agree, but don’t you think describing it as “madness” is not a tad hyperbolic OP?

Jesus that clickbait title à la YouTube generation is the worst.

“Here Is Why Blizzard Is An Absolute Disgrace Of A Company”
-> Friends appearing as away in the Bnet list

SHE DOES NOT REPRESENT US

This is true, people should not be actively hiding themselves in order to not appear online all the time when mostly people don’t want to be aware of their phone or what they appear as on the device they carry all the time.

Using the phone is not the same as using the computer, one is static (yeyeye laptops whatever blah blah) the other one is (obviously) mobile, not the same situation.

i read this forum a lot and schmuse generally is always the very first response and the argument is always something very simple and stupid mostly because she doesnt care about the topic like here. her argument is that it doesnt make a different which means she doesnt care but instead of ignoring the topic she has to reply. go check her history if you dont believe it.
the thing is that i am 100% correct here and if you go ask players theyll agree but most people go on the forum just cause they enjoy arguing.

It’s an annoyance, but it is largely irrelevant. Still don’t see how indifference = trolling.

Would it make you feel better if I rabidly disagreed with you in a childish and illogical manner?

actually, i am not indifferent. i really want to know why anyone would get so upset about something insignificant like mobile green icon / offline - phone icon when the initial argument was that they cant get a “feel” for how many people are actually playing when this isnt even an issue in the first place as those people who actually play/are in game are at the top anyways.

you can easily see who is in game and who isnt. and why would op care about who is on their phone or offline when all they care is who is in game?

I never had any problem with it so i don’t see the reason of the post :sob:

It’s a bit overdramatic I agree but I believe puting the title as he or she did is just to attract people to this non-existent issue.

Edit:It’s like those annoying ADS online with clickbait tittle.

IDK maybe they log on and think
"Which of my friends shall I play with today? Oh they’re all online. Neat.

WAIT THEY’RE ON THEIR PHONES ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!"

Personally I find it a minor irritant, but not so much as to demand a change or call it ‘madness’. The fact they called you a troll for no valid reason makes me think that the OP thought it was a bank holiday, if you know what I mean…

It’s only disappointing when you wanna play with that guy and he suddenly goes on his phone and you are like ARRRRGH!.

None issue .

This is correct the OP likes to hyperbole and make 1st world problems when there is none.

Then how can I contact them if I need them for key/raid as a reminder ? think about it …

You are one of the worse trolls going and can you show any stats that “everyone” agrees with you ?

That is a blantant lie and harrasement right there she is one of the most helpful and most polite posters on the forum and a joy to talk and debate with unlike you .

Asking others to do that is bullying and harrasement and I have flagged your post .

Lastly she isn’t a dude I shall remind you to be a little more respectful when talking of genders thank you .
