Blizzard, its time to bring back 10 man myth Raiding

Not gonna lie we have seen alot of positive changes regarding this game when 9.2 hit. Not sure if blizzard is gonna continue on this roll but i am hopeful. I know alot of the people in WoWs community wants 10 man raiding back and I am one of them. There is no need to scrap the 20 myth raiding, but we need something for the people who wanna raid in a smaller enviorment/raid with friends where you dont have to organize everything around 20 people. What do you guys think? is 10 man or even 12 man raiding something we would want back?

Usually 10+ man raiding is the most do-able group constellation from my experience. No matter if mythic or normal mode. The more people you have to look up and invite, the longer it takes to start doing the actual content.

Likely never happening because these pampered tunnel-visioned kids will moan that somebody beating the same encounter with less people somehow “diminishes their hard work”. :man_shrugging:t3:

Poor babies!

10man raiding can return for all im concerned. However it shouldnt coexist with 20man. Its just gonna cause balance issues. History is a testament to that.

Wouldnt say diminishes their hard work but rather that some fights/raids were significantly harder or easier depending on group size. SoO for instance was harder on 10man than it was on 25man.

Edit: And ye as Alewin pointed out. This would repeat what we had back when Mythic was introduced. Many guilds would fall apart or a lot of people getting booted unless they all manage to get 2 teams going without the better team snacking the other teams members if needed for a fight or other reasons.

No.

I enjoy doing content with 20+ players. I like that heroic raids are flexible sizes, so you never have to sit anyone out. Pruning a 24 player heroic raid down to a 10 player mythic would be horrible. I’d expect half the guild to quit when they didn’t make the first week’s cut.

Yep, I agree. I stopped raiding the same time they made end game be 20man. Also killed my guild, and many others.

I really think it could CO exists with 20 man for sure, the hardest and most ”rewarding” would be 20 man mythic. But 10 man could exist anyway, less loot dropp / boss, rwf and rankings should be in 20 man. Maybe even the highest itemlevel could be from 20 man.

Sure But heroic isnt really challening, you wanna do the hardest content. But with a less player scale, trying to drive a 20 man guild is extremy exhausting especially If new started. It killed alot of guilds

How am i supposed to hide my fails in 10 person raid?

a 10 man version isn’t necessarily easier than 20 man, and we can’t have two progression difficulties for balance issues, as people pointed out.

while I prefer 10man, I don’t think it would solve WoW’s roster problem. if you have 11 people one will leave because they can’t raid and next week someone is sick, you have 9 and nobody can raid. then it just cascades into the guild disbanding…

I mean, forgive me, but I started raiding in TBC and Wrath. 25 players, I think? Amazing experience. Big raids are brilliant, and I don’t think I can be converted from that feeling.

I’d probably raid if mythic was 10m. Should be able to find exactly 10 people on Alliance that are going to show up.

exactly. in 10 man everyone has a unique job but in 20+ it’s “you lot go here, you lot go there”. it takes 20 wipes just for everyone to get each random mechanic at least once and everyone feels less responsibility for doing stuff, since there’s so many people.

not to mention spreading is just a nightmare. the recent world first race really put a spotlight on how valuable those dynamic spread pattern weakauras are (though imo they’re ridiculous and borderline unfair)

Exactly. My Raiding experience in other games confirms that “backstage” problem, as I would call it.

In Destiny (my main game) we also have raids and raids are played by max. 6 people there. Most mechanics need maybe like 2-3 players, which means that the other 3 players usually only kill the trash and do nothing aside of serving as damage pools for Boss damage. And problem with that is that most players that don’t raid often are either like “I want to kill adds, I don’t want to do a meaningful job” or “How does the mechanic work?”…

And the Raids in Destiny are like 20-50% the complexity of the Raids I have played in WoW so far. (granted, Shooter vs MMO doesn’t really add up, but you get my point).

10 man was popular like around 80 % 10 man guilds and Blizzard just killed it. I am sure alot players will come back. They removed due to too hard to balance 10 and 25 man so they refuse to do it.

I loved ten man raiding, but I don’t think we’ll see it return. Flexible raids have been much better for guilds. If they have only a few they can still raid, if they have loads they can still raid without having to run two teams which presents it’s own challenges.

There is nothing to stop people running 2 2 6 within the current system. Some bosses are more optimal in small groups and others aren’t.

What is stopping with the current system is that its only tied to Heroic.

Exactly this, I am pretty sure the game would envolve and we would see alot of returning comming back to the game.

You can go ten man in Normal and Heroic, it’s only Mythic that is a static group size.

Mythic has to be 20 for balancing reasons.
