Blizzard, Make Russian Localization Great Again!

“Google translate machine style” everywhere.
Talants, Items, Quest, Ingame Settings! etc…

Many talents and quests are not translated correctly, which causes confusion and frustration.

No way to use en_{GB,US} client localization without moving to europe realm.

I’ve reported errors many times. (Through in-game report system). No reactions so far.

Make it possible to use English localization client on Russian realms, if you don’t want to fix the machine translation.

Blizzard, cmon!
I want to play with my friends (who can’t speak english or can’t communicate with other players on EU realms).

PSS: Sorry for posting at EU forum, but russian forum has no community manager or so.

Not sure if you already tried this but in the launcher right next to the blue button where you can start your WoW client there is a tiny cogwheel. If you click this and then choose game settings you should see a dialog where you can select the text and speach language your client should use. This way you should be able to switch your client to English

Yes. But.
You CAN’T use English on Russian realm.
Only “really bad” ru_RU locale is available.

I don’t think blizzard want to improve ru_RU locale.

Hey Blizzard, make ru_RU localization bugtracker.
People CAN help with that.

And make English localization available at Russian realms. BUMP.

I think we got maybe one or two and Blizzard fired a lot of ppl from europe last summer.

I think you’d be better in the NA forum if the issue is visibility.

Great again lol.
It never was anywhere near “great” to begin with.

In 3.3.5a times it was polished near to 99.9%. Now it is worse than unofficial localisation addons from 1.12 times

Russian localization is really too bad…A lot of talents are translated in such way that their description is different from what they actually do.

Yeah. WotLK localization is almost perfect.

This would had been such a simple fix.
Pretty much every educated person in Europe who was born on end of the 80s and after should be already having a very decent grasp of English if not able to fully use it as a second language.

Yes. But…

Just imagine!
You need to go to English Wowhead (or search on russian wowhead for item or quest etc, and then switch to english) and read full text of a quest or an ability or a passive ability, so that you can just continue playing and understand that the translation is correct.

No way to effective report bad translation. No way to play in “original” game.
Its hurts.

I was trying to say that it would had been better if they also got the English version completely.
English is not my first language here either. It was video games that accelerated my uptake of English as a kid.
More often than not, I would cringe when playing a lot of the games that were localized in my first language.

Yes and yes.
Totally agree.

Why is the actual BC content localization different from BCC localization? We want to better ruRU localization!

I think, they use a 2.4.3 official alpha ruRU package for “aesthetic exp”.
First russian package was released in the end of TBC.
With all bugs and stuff.

Notice us, Blizzard senpai!
