You would be surprised how many have subscribed just to post on forums :d
For some it’s like "safe space " “friend circle” or whatever.
blizzard forgot their own Social agreement contract
hence why they removed the post
- STAY TOXIC BLIZZARD
I thought it was funny.
Oh really? Would love to see the statistics and how you received the data. I doubt that anybody would sub for the game just to discuss about ingame activities like PvP.
I don’t think its offensive.
But it is quite unprofessional.
The kind of humour fits very well with people who feel they are a dragon in the wrong body of a human.
PvP community is rancidly toxic towards each other and Blizzard, and Blizzard makes a subtle mock, and PvPers run around clutching their pearls in shock.
Literal Karens.
Excuse me sir but I have never been toxic towards Blizzard or people, let’s not stereotype.
Then you have a bad sense of humour.
You literally dyed your hair pink and rerolled ret. Don’t talk to me about toxic, ma’am.
Don’t pinkshame and retshame me, I am a Plate wearer main, since BfA I always have my Warrior, Deathknight and Paladin at max level already.
Also what is wrong pink hair, I went for Nicki Minaj appearence.
I don’t get why we should be offended. They probably deleted because people are easily triggered, but coming from this company I get it’s ironic.
Strong point right here. Everyone knew Rets were going to be absolutely bonkers.
Keep people rerolling.
And they know that new player retention has been bad for a while, especially for PvPers, so keep reeling new people in with easy faceroll specs, then switch the meta until the next season/expansion again.
What do you suggest instead of changing meta each season/expansion? Let’s imagine, each class is perfectly balanced and performs almost at same level. Wouldn’t it get boring? Besides every PvP game uses this system, look at league of legends, they increase price of an item and some classes fall from meta, people play other classes and buy skins for other meta classes, this is how it works.
Meta can’t stay stable, if it does it gets boring. Reworks are great, for example I played bleed warrior during BfA, it wasn’t S tier but it was a fun style, then we became Execute/Condemn spammers during Shadowlands and nowadays mixed with some bleed and big mortals.
I don’t think changing meta and classes seasonally is a bad thing, there is already no other option, the game needs to constantly change and put some classes under spotlight.
That is the point people like the devs don’t understand. It wouldn’t!
Does football get boring to watch without changing the rules every season? Of course not! Same is PvP. It’s not like story telling PvE, that’s why we still can play in the same arenas for decades and still enjoy it.
And just in case you would really get bored with your spec, you could just log onto an alt and play that, well knowing it’s equally competitive! How enjoyable would that be?
I have my 2 alts that I really enjoy and when none of it is really viable on higher ratings, then I am not playing a new class, I quit the game and wait for the meta to swap.
Football also changes meta and rules almost each season and teams get buffed / nerfed by selling/buying players. Meta also changes, sometimes formaiton meta is 3-5-2 sometimes 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, there is multiple variables each season, not even talking about inner micro strategies. Our options to make changes will be extremely limited in a stable meta.
What you don’t understand is it is impossible to maintain perfect balance.
Rule 1 : Always have at least 1 meta class at your disposal in order to clash against big bois. A class which can hover around 2k - 2.6k, an advice of course.
Oh, we have that in WoW as well. You play with these players or with those players. You aren’t bounded to a composition or the same players. You also change the strategy during the games, based on position, cooldowns, etc.
So the argument doesn’t match at all, because they barely change the rules of the game, only slight adjustments to make it even more fair!!! But they never go along and say
All teams with a red jersey can play with 13 players now, while all team with a blue jersey have to play with 9 players!
But that is what the devs do by massively changing the meta!
Nobody is asking for perfect balance. What I am asking for is to bring specs as close together as possible. Take damage, defense, support, cc, etc. into consideration when balancing a spec.
I am used to play at top end and like I said, when none of my prefered alts is viable at top ratings, I simply quit the game and enjoy something else. I won’t spend time into leveling, gearing and learning another class just because my chosen ones aren’t viable.
I’ve never seen a game so constantly imbalanced as WoW PvP. You mention League of Legends. How many troll picks exist in that game now? I bet you, very few.
How much more powerful is Ret in an arena or a duel compared to Outlaw Rogue?
I like to mention Battlerite, one of my favourite arena brawlers. Still has a dedicated following, and the game is considered complete. Balancing hasn’t been touched in 2, maybe 3 years, and after 2000 games I can attest that each champion is playable at any level.
I don’t want perfect balance, change can be good. Yet people who really love this game quit because their class fantasy gets ruined, and that’s a travesty.
Take CS:GO.
How long does that game exists but people keep playing it without getting bored, even though it never changed!
Almost all classes were viable and overall we had balance pre Ret rework, I don’t know how it is currently I have claimed everything I want from this season. To be honest they’ve made many balance changes during Dragonflight, when I compare BfA balance cadence to Dragonflight I don’t want to criticize them too harshly, I am a man of justice.
It’s been a long time since I left League of Legends but Tyler1 seems to be raging and threatening riot employees regularly.
They sometimes make wrong decisions. For example Warlock Metamorphosis was a cool ability. I still don’t know why both DH and Warlocks can’t keep it. They both use fel, it is a charismatic transformation but warlocks were robbed of it ;
CsGo is my GoTo game when I don’t play WoW. It is easy to learn and doesn’t require time investment like WoW does .
but I don’t think it is a good comparison WoW and CsGo, these 2 are extremely different games lol.
You can play every spec up to several ratings but that is not exactly what I am asking for.
They did. They destroyed some specs to barely being viable anymore while buffing other specs from A tier into S tier. And they also came up with something like Ret.
I wouldn’t say it was a good job overall but I do of course agree with consistent changes are a lot better than no changes!
But the question was if arena would become boring if all specs were, in theory, perfectly balanced and equally viable on all ratings.
Your argument was that they need to switch meta to keep it interesting while I personally think that they do more bad than good with it.
And especially because WoW requires more time like you need to level and equip your alt it is even more frustrating if they bring in so much imbalance. You can’t just swap the class like you can do in Overwatch for example and enjoy your time with another spec.
The devs should appreciate our time and keep our chosen alts in a spot that is as close as possible to all other specs! They can’t achieve perfect balancing obviously, but they should never stop trying.
Or you do.
