So basically this thread is
#1 Assuming people don’t want or need gold if they have millions on top of millions,
#2 I don’t want to work for gold,
#3 my value of gold is way more important than those who actually dedicate their time to learn markets and make profit
you mean you want to reduce the money cap by such a large margin people will lose gold that they’ve spent ungodly amounts of hours to get?
ever heard of hard work pays off give it a try
Poor panda
Pretty sure you can send gold via ingame mail to your own characters to circumvent said “1 Billion Gold cap”.
I’ve not bought a single token since WoD. I’ve skipped most of WoDs garrison gold making and never bothered to level multiple characters to earn tons of money through legion mission tables.
I’ve managed to hit goldcap in BFA, without playing the auction house, and also managed to get back down below 1 million gold due to me buying stuff from the bmah and the longboi.
You don’t need to buy any tokens to compete. Start with a small sum of a few million, easily farmable without buying tokens, through several ways, be it boosting, advertising, raw gold, and play the economy on a small server. As soon as you have more gold, move on to larger servers and keep it going, if you truly want to “compete”.
Only because some people can decide for what amount of gold something ends up in the auction house, it doesn’t mean they decide if it’s worth that amount.
People could easily push the price of a single Zin’anthid up to 1k gold a piece. But nobody would buy it for said price, thus it wouldn’t be worth 1k a piece and putting them into the auction house for that price would only end up in you losing money.
The gold cap is fine as it is. I agree, having some people have more money than they could ever spend, and them still hoarding it like a Bezos, is silly, but the gold cap is not at fault for that. And lowering it wouldn’t help either.
they can’t get much higher without raising the gold cap. current main gold sink was AH mount @ 5M. previous main was spider @ 2M. in one expansion, the price more than doubled. if we more than doubled the AH mount cost, we would hit gold cap so cant be done.
also, i would NEVER advocate for ingame vendor collectibles to cost so much. anything over 1M is a bit excessive because the people who have lots of gold wont have an issue getting more, but those who dont have as much will find it harder.
first, repairing cost should go now. its a pain and is a relic. second, like someone else already said, this will fix nothing. the people who have hit gold cap have the means to make lots of gold, so even if they buy gold sinks, they will make that money back. the only ones it REALLY hurts are normal players who will have to farm hard for a whole patch or expansion to be able to afford such gold sinks, and it basically takes them out of the purchasing market for a time to come.
so, what happens is:
rich wont buy anyway.
poor cant buy anything after 1 purchase.
sadly, the world is full of people like that and most likely will for a long time to come. too many people are just greedy, and see wealth as something substantial rather than what it really is: a tool.
exactly. you are perfectly correct.
I see you ask for Gold on lots of threads. How much would you consider adequate?
I dont farm gold by any means. I am probably considered quite poor. I have between 10-20k on each of my characters. But it seems enough to get by in most cases…
I can’t imagine there being more than a handful of people that have that much gold on their hands, the only accounts that I imagine are likely to be near that amount of gold on them are the middle-man accounts for boosting communities.
… but even those accounts I doubt have that much sitting on them as they move around gold to pay-out guilds for boosting.
So those with 1b gold, will just spread it across multiple accounts, like they spread it over multiple toons and keep most of it in mail right now. You achieved exactly nothing.
did google also showed how many players have 1 billion gold on their account?
google only told you what the cap is what you can have.
So your opinion is based on what you can have.
I hit gold cap few time this expansion, my private guild bank is also full of gold. What I shoud do with all that cash?
you know when a game is good that ppl dont complain about bots, hacks and stuff
they start to cry about this kind of shizzle
buy something nice for yourself, or waste it on gambling, or throw it away, or just keep it
It’s your gold, you do as you like with it.
Some players love to play the AH and making gold is a huge part of the game for them, so who are we to tell them how to play? They pay their sub like others, how they play or how much gold they have is for them to decide.
Cannot gamble in EU So I just spend gold for rewards on guild events.
You know why that sounds enough to you?
Cause you’ve never had enough gold.
If you’re mad at people having gold then… Idk, have you tried farming gold yourself?
Nobody is stopping you from becoming the AH god that pulls in millions of gold but you.
Actually the way to deal with this is to inflate the gold supply from the avenues that normal players are most likely to access. So vendor prices and such, inflation eats savings alive irl. It could in WoW too. Restricting the gold supply only serves to reinforce the status quo monetarily.
To make numbers more manageable they could simply introduce higher value coinage such as platinum.
I bet OP is also a socialist…
Those players that got close to the gold cap did something… yeah they did something to earn that gold.
Probably something you could do if you had their skills.
They didn’t just log into wow and be like: “Oh jeez, i was born rich, look at all this gold, the goblins treat me like a god, night elves are dancing on mailboxes they summon wherever i go and oh yeah, i can probably buy your house irl too if i wanted!”.
Get it OP? They worked for that gold in one way or another.
That hookah pipe is strong
Just make gold account wide already
