The “casual” element that is RBG has turned into a field of try harding and sweating. This just needs to stop and the fact that this is it is still allowed is absolutely ridiculous. Anytime I queue an RBG as a solo player, it’s either a hard win (rarely) where opposing team is AFKing, or (most of the time) I have the AFK team and they decide to AFK after first fight, especially if we are up against premade group. Coming across to a decent casual lobby is impossible. Please do something about it or I will have to quit playing again like I did in Cata because of Russian premades.
What can be casual about rated competitive player vs player mode? You either are good at it or at low rating.
PvP in WoW is polluted with PvE players who only want rewards for participating, not winning.
Oh, you mean the random guys who come from one realm and really want to PvP, because their queues are horribly long (thanks for isolation rule that forces them into one side team from same language 2 realms) and they can’t affort fast collaborated PvE like rush matches?
If you are talking about rated BG, than I assume you played WIN/AFK. In this format, you wont discover a “decent” team.
Regarding random BG this complaining at a selfish level, people play it for fun, therefore they should be allowed to play as a group. It is not designed to be serious PVP, like RBG (rated BG).
Btw as night elf you are member of the ally, which is the stronger pvp fraction.
Regarding russian players, I am sure you played with many of them on EU ally. Many of them are on Shek’zeer, the Flamegor players are just from the only russian language server.
during these times horde was so nice. i miss it
He’s not talking about rated, he means random BGs. I know this cus he got battered last night in randoms and now he’s whining on the forums. BTW, it wasn’t a premade. You’re just not very good.
At the end of the day, it’s better to be a try hard than a cry hard ![]()

You’re a rogue you play mostly solo, these “premades” your complaining about are not actually the main issue.
So last night, two of us were queued together, you will find later on at night you face the same opponents alot, there is regulars who play bgs.
Alot of the time we are from the same server, for instance you had Slicklol on yourside, sometimes hes on our side, its random, it’s not always a premade your facing, its just the same people queuing and being placed randomly in either team, due to blizzards strange causual bg queuing system it just takes the first players that join and fire you into random teams based on when you joined, its why you have 8 healers one side non on the other.
The system does try to match parties of the same size on each team but sometimes thats not possible.
Next time dont just rush into mid with your team of pve sub 300k geared players, you’re a rogue try go for objectives or do what other rogues do count cooldowns wait till enemy is 20% then engage.
Sometimes Random-BG gets so boring because you face game after game opponents that will make half the winning-team afk waiting for the other 50 % to process the objective fast enough to end the imbalance. Then, on some games it is that you are on the other side of this very same mechanic. Then, there are games who are very balanced, 10 Players fighting 25 mins over a last capped flag in Warsong-Gulch or Twin-Peaks, 50 % of each team in the enemy base & their own base, while both teams are holding an enemy flag for already 8 mins. The possible close loss then does not feel demotivating at all.
Or just lately, an AV that was decided whether 12 mates die (12 reinforcements left) in the time the foe Captain Balinda gets not killed, one just started to combat her. The opponent had 34 deaths left (34 reinforcements left) while 5 DPS & 1 Healer were on Balinda & an eventual win over her would result in -100 on opponent’s reinforcements.
The Alterac-Valley did end with Balinda being on 7 % of HP left, the opposing team having 6 reinforcements left & us, we were just landing on 0 reinforcements.
Press X to doubt, you definitely need to give a source for that claim
Also while it’s not a problem that a group of 5 decides to queue together with a variety of skill/gear level, a group of 5 good players, fully conquest geared will make the game miserable for everyone else
This plague has pretty much killed retail random bgs over time
Classic does have a few advantages over retail :
- enforcing ally vs. ally matches so you can end up with a “good team” randomly (as long as premade 5 is not involved ofc, as I noticed bigger premades tend to be sent to ally side)
- less region segregation (except for cyrillic languages unfortunately)
- highly random number of healers on each team, that is a positive to me as this makes the match outcome more random
Classic has 2 big issues :
- Horde is in a bad state overall
- PvE players are forced to play Kotmogu and Mines for their legendary quest
Yes, and those balanced lobbies are just very rare. I don’t mind losing, I really don’t. What is agonizing for me is AFK teams in RBGs…
can you provide evidence otherwise?
I don’t see any evidence there, evidence would be a blizzard statement or patch notes about BG matchmaking on classic…
So you are saying there are no cry baby afk groups in RBGs? What’s with me being bad at the game? Even if I’m the worst player, this won’t change the fact that a lot of lobbies have players where they stop playing in the middle of RBG because the other team has premades and/or higher gear.
can you show me proof you are correct please also on that merit? im happy to be shown otherwise
If your talking about “Rated” battlegrounds then yes groups will AFK and are specifically made in order to do so for quicker farming, usually trying one fight if they win that initial fight they will carry on if they wipe they afk. I think the mix up here is causal battleground and rated battlegrounds.
So once & for all, are we talking about RBG = Random Battleground? hehe
Why is it so hard to tell that I’m referring to Random BGs? I am literally complaining about premades… we aren’t even allowed to play rated as solo. Also, I characterized it further by saying “casual”, rated is not casual obviously.
So yes, I don’t have a problem if it is rated that people are AFKing to farm conq, that’s their problem. I do however have a problem with people AFKing in casual lobbies because they think they are going to lose or they just don’t want to fight against more coordinated groups. Losing Is Not The Issue Here, AFKers and sweaty premades/teams are.
And, AFK should be reportable while the penalty range is much higher, ranging from an hour to a week for instance.
Previous Tuesday I organised 5 v 6 maneuvers. Took our guildies on alts/mains about 30 minutes, like two instance runs. No PvE players are not forced to anything.
Its an MMORPG and your moaning a “group” of players are better than others, there is no I WIN button, if you want to play on an equal footing then and you believe your against a premade get geared play with better players and group with them?
The causal “BG”s you’re whinging about the other night there was a single “premade” if you can call it that, me and my gf…. just two of us were queued together that was it rest were just randoms who were geared.
We were not even sweating just playing a random bg half wasted lol
Well you stated that the bg matchmaking tries to pair premades together, the burden of proof is on you and until you provide evidence your statement can and will be put in doubt…
I stated where I saw it your too ignorant to actually read it. It’s been a known thing for a long long time, if you group it tries to put you against groups of similar sizes …. sorry if that offends you.
