Blizzard patch servers are slow

it’s not your problem, it’s this company’s problem…

I managed to solve the issue by starting the game from the retail folder rather than the launcher. The game then required me to log in with email/pass and the a code from bnet authenticator app, once i did this the launcher also got past the initilization phase and started working again.

Same here , it was faster to download fresh game 100+ GB in 30 min then getting 200 mb path. It happened before for me.

stuck at initialisation for 2 hours now. It’s not me. Every other download or online activity works perfectly fine at expected speeds.

Do i uncheck the “pause updates when i launch a game” in the download setting before starting the game through the retail folder then? Mine finally started updating but im still 2,5h in now.

tnx mate it works now

Damn! Y it worked! Tyvm!

as admin you can also start but you don’t have the download then so

why do we pay for to sit al day staring at download screen and get the finger from blizz

Been downloading this 370MB patch now with 30KB/S speed for only 4 hours. Im guessing the Tech people are having a day off since its Saturday anyway…

40KB/S now so that’s an improvement! Probably back to 10KB/S soon.

mine is stuck initializing, which i presume means dl is done ? but still stuck pre 400mb WTH is going on ??

Lol. Started downloading Hearthstone and its 4MB/S immediately. But for Hearthstone only. WoW goes back to 10KB/S.

I am actually stuck on “initializing” part and it seems it doesn even start downloading.

I tried;

  • Restarting PC
  • Reinstalling bnet and deleting caches
  • Restarting router,
  • Flushing DNS,
  • Stopping antivirus services,
  • Connecting through my mobile hotspot to download
  • Deleting WTF, Interface folders
  • Running bnet as admin

And none of it mattered. Any suggestions?

I did the same thing. Just wait and play something else. Everything else works fine. It’s WoW servers not you, your PC or ISP. Guaranteed.

Having the same problem the download is way too slow less then 10 kb/s
maybe if i revert back to a 52kb/s modem the download be much faster

10KB/S now. Gonna take until morning.

So i had the same problem

What worked for me was:

  1. Open task manager and make sure all instances of battle.net were closed
  2. Run the app as admin

Hope this helps!

Can some one else confirm this actually helps ?

I left it on initializing for some hours and at some point it finished. Probably doesn’t hurt to restart your pc if you tried pausing and starting the downloads/restarting the bnet client - in case something is stuck in the background.

Why does blizzard not fix there slow download server
