Blizzard: Please Confirm In-Game Mail Times as they are NOT 1 hour

I sent 3 of my alts bags. One alt was sent them last night (Tuesday around 23:00 BST) and tonight I sent the same alt and two others a couple more bags at 20:00hrs BST. They still have not arrived (now 22:29hrs BST).
What is going on? Blizzard’s help states mail to other characters takes 1 hour. Did something change? Did all the hot-fixing and disconnects that happened tonight mess up the mail system between characters?
AH mail is working fine; I’m just having problems with mail to alts.

Would the busy servers have something to do with this? That’s probably safe to say.

Either way just keep an eye out and hope you’ve sent it to the correct toon

As i recall, mail to alts on the same account has always been delivered instanteneously. Can’t remember was it classic or preBC (1.12ish maybe?) but it certainly was.

You’re right. When I played before mail to my alts was always instant. It did eventually arrive - at 23:30 BST. That’s way more than an hour. Fortunately everything arrived (including the stuff I sent last night). I’m going to assume that Blizz’s realm shenanigans messed up mail for a bit.

Most probably some layering bug. ie if your alt is on another layer his mail gets lost in the void or something.
Same account mail is supposed to be instant afaik.

It’s 1h in vanilla. if i dont remember it
wrong.

In Vanilla it was 1hr to everyone, even your own alts.

Mail to alts did not become instant until part way through BC.

That is true my mail with cloth in it took about an hour, same with one with a wand in it. If your mail hasn’t arrived check the name you sent it to, you probably got it wrong OP.

And that was on all three alts, all of whom have names I would never forget since I’ve used them for years. Plus the in-game mail tells you when you try to mail something to a random name not connected to your accounts, guild or friends list. It’s interesting mail sent the night before as well as 2 and 3 hours before all arrived at the same time very shortly after the servers disconnected for the hotfix. At least it’s working now.
