So Blizzard. What is your plan here? What do you seem to want to accomplish with so many dead Horde characters? Aren’t Horde players supposed to root for the faction they are a part of? How can we do that if you keep killing the people who are supposed to lead us? And when you don’t kill them, they turn evil and abandon us. Where is the fairness? Especially when at the same time the only loss since Cataclysm the Alliance went through was Varian. Bolvar is still alive, and his counterpart Dranosh is still dead too. With most of our current cast they are either inactive in the main plot or tell us how much they miss their alliance friends.
In the opposite look at Jaina. She was a total badass through out all of Bfa and moped the floor with the Horde players when we finally faced her in battle. I am sick and tired of seeing this happening each expansion. Dear fellow Horde players. Tell me what you think of this. Do you support Blizzard making this stuff in the story or do you also want this treatment to stop, and the Horde leadership being repaired so that the community can have their rule of cool moments for the leaders we grew up with. At least those who are still there. I don’t count the allied races because they are mostly too new to be part of the plot or token feminist icons who share the same personality(Meaning Geya’rah, Thalyssra, Talanji and Mayla).
Feel free to discuss. I am excited to meet your opinions on this.
TBH, even as Alliance I can see the Horde leadership is messed up.
Its a bit like the UK at the moment, different leaders who actually have no idea whats actually going on with their population.
Due to Blizzard killing alot of people the Horde is depleted heavily. I doubt we can recover from this. Leaders are the camera players experience the lore with. If those are gone it dumps the immersion. And even the new ones get it(Rezan, Rastakhan, Nazgrim, Garrosh etc.). So I am asking what Blizzard is trying to archieve if Horde has no characters left while the alliance never loses anyone.
TBH, outside of Thrall, you had Vol’Jin, who didn’t live long enough to do anything really,
then you have Garrosh and Sylvanas who just betrayed everyone in the end, then you have the other leaders, who, as you say, have been taken out way too quickly.
at the moment you have Baine, Thrall and possibly Talanji (but i doubt she would last long if made a leader).
Again, as an alliance player, i can also see how Jaina became the mary sue of some expansions, with no Horde equivalent, which did become a bit of a bore to me.
I am not mad at alliance players. Don’t get it wrong. I am angry at Blizzard for treating the Horde like a second fiddle at best and an deplorable villain at worst. I wish to have a change in the writing. I want the times of Cataclysm back where I could openly cheer for my faction without feeling bad for it.
Then you haven’t farmed renown properly. Malfurion and Tyrande show up midways of the main story and talk about their people and their future. Not sure which level but it is there.
Oh right, I did that. I consider it to be the Night Elf plotline continued, not the broader Alliance and Horde stuff.
I think Blizzard are trying to keep it contained to being just about the Night Elves and nothing else.
I know, but I’m not seeing Blizzard doing a lot of Horde and Alliance stuff anytime soon. It’s not exactly on their roadmap.
Maybe they’ll squeeze in some relevant story with the human and orc heirloom quests, but other than that I think it’s dragons and primalists for the next couple of years.
My Orc and human characters are currently on level 60. Not sure if I push them to 70 just to see the heritage armor. Erevien and my Nightborne are more important.
Literally everywhere post Bfa. It gets annoying. She is Blizzard’s poster girl now that Sylvanas is gone.
I don’t consider her our leader. She exists to replace characters that existed before her and is used as plot device. Just like with most of the council she agreed to the peace treaty and made the Horde passive.
I gave up on this after reading the Vow Eternal. The Horde leaders and Alliance are all buddy to each other now. It was awful to read. Talanji casually talking to Turalyon and Alleria made my head hurt.
I’m having a spot of bother making sense of this all, you’re angry with the Horde being treated like a “Deplorable villain”, but you feel their high point was Cataclysm, when under the leadership of Garrosh (The first evil Horde warchief since the old demon-blood Horde) they went conquest-crazy, let’s be honest here: The things the Horde did one could openly cheer for came at the expense of the Alliance, using any means necessary, no matter how foul. (Remember that Garrosh’s sole claim at honour was in Stonetalon, which Blizz later admitted was due to miscommunication)
Which neatly brings me to my second point of contention: How do you make this fit in with your all-too-frequent “The Alliance must be destroyed”-ranting in other threads?
“I’m not mad at Alliance players” vs “Destroy the Alliance!” (Could be waved away with “Players =/= Faction”, but considering how aggrieved you personally are at your faction’s treatment…) and “We’re treated as villains” vs “KILL ALL ALLIANCE AND TAKE THEIR STUFF!”, you can’t have it both ways.
Anduin and Jaina HAVE TO GO!
Anduin is the most useless character and deffenitly leader that has ever existed. The story involving him is weak and cringe, he is a pathetic “king”.
Jaina played her role in BFA and that was impressive, at this point she should be phased out and forgotten.
She served her role to unite the KT with the Alliance and solved her mommy issue’s.
The continuation off her storyline is purely out off lack off orginallity from the current dev team.
Vol’jin should be brought back.
Last thing we know he was given redemption by Bwonsambi and send towards Ardenweald too “hopefully” recover in the essence pods and serve once again!
I don’t think he should ever lead the Horde again, as he was oppossed to the idea off a single leader, but he should deff play a valid role!
Cataclysm was when the Horde was allowed to score some victories on their home turf. Which is Lordaeron and the barrens. Which was ridiculos to begin with. Or do you critizise Blizzard for giving both warfront wins to the alliance keeping in mind that Darkshore is night elf land?
Why? His story is done. I hated how they axed Rezan to push him.
Alliance has the High King and Anduin so far hasn’t gone mad and evil. Compare that to the previous 3 warchiefs.
Is killing alliance leaders solving any Horde problems? Just bring the dead Horde leaders back to life and call it a day.
We had enough of horde already. You had an expansion focused around iron horde, then another one focused around demon horde and now we just had two sylvanas expansions in the row. It’s time to stop.
Bfa was not about Sylvanas. In Shadowlands she was the villain. The Iron Horde is not the playable Horde. The Orcs from our timeline didn’t profit from the WoD lore at all. Not to mention Yrel took Draenor by force. You don’t make sense.
My main issues with faction war stories are twofold:
It can’t be resolved, ever, neither side can win (Good thing too, both sides have players in them), so it’s just a never-ending stalemate, Horde attacks, Alliance counterattacks, rinse, repeat.
Only the initial Horde attacks have any consequence in the outside world, a lot of stuff gets wrecked, Alliance loses land, in the end Alliance always wins (Has to, if the Horde has its way it’s “Game over” for half the playerbase), but the victories never show (Horde forces were in Ashenvale up to their re-conquest of the place in BfA, despite being “Defeated” in a novel, some victory…), it’s always just some lip-service in books or a snippet of quest text. We canonically won the warfronts, so what? In-game they’ll eternally be contested to keep the warfront content going.
I’m glad Blizz is moving away from faction leaders as main story drivers, the only ones i’ve seen (Since departing for the dragon isles) are Tyrande and Malfurion, Malfurion is put in cold storage, and it’s more of a (Much-needed) continuation of the Night elf storyline than anything else. (The Alliance doesn’t get mentioned at all), faction war stories just make both sides unhappy, best to just abandon them and leave “Faction war” to BGs.
Literally got beaten to a bloody pulp on the brink of death while being surrounded by her primary element as pointed out by Anduin. Yeah she totally “moped the floor” with the horde. If moped meaning she got completely roflstomped that is.
Mekkatorque, another alliance leader, had to be put in stasis as to not succumb to his injuries.
