Blizzard Please Update Boons

New: once a buff is Booned, any additional buffs picked up should automatically merge into the existing Boon (and maybe even refresh old buffs ?).

Now one can AFK while waiting for buffs without losing like 10min on Rend. It would also remove a lot of griefing, such as taking the DMF buff on a 70/30 Ally/Horde PvP server…

It’s an elegant QoL fix that makes the game smoother for everyone… except the griefers.

No.
Its a reason for PVP Server  the kick of booning.

BTW: You can organize a raid for the DMF buff. If you try solo, its your fault.

Is the next wish is, to change PVP Server in a PVE Server? BTW: How many alliance players are ganked by Horde Havoc?

Better just remove boons. This is terrible mechanics and should not exist in this game.

Do you know how many times we’ve been killed as a full 40-man raid because there are four Alliance raids camping the area? We can’t even get the DMF buff when it’s on the Horde side.

I haven’t suggested anything that would remove PvP — you can still fight all you want. The difference is that some people just want to grief, not PvP. They know that killing players there can cause them to lose 10+ hours of progress and maybe even miss their raid entirely. That’s not PvP, that’s just bad design encouraging frustration instead of competition.

”Is the next wish is, to change PVP Server in a PVE Server?” …..Very silly way to dismiss an idea without engaging with it seriously.

Mulgore is horde home area. Just disable PvP, wait 5 minutes and get your buff.

Boons need to be removed from Classic, they destroyed the thrill of the risk involved with getting world buffs. They need to keep an eye on inflation tho because the boon was also created to combat inflation, this is now no longer really a factor because they reduced cost to only 1g.

Asfaik Griefing is against the Blizzard ToS but killing opposite faction with world buffs is not against the ToS.

Step 1, get someone to queue you for a BG.
Step 2, run close using all kinds of utility potions and invis trinkets (yes locks can completly make this useless)
Step 3, auto take DMF using NWB and click enter BG
Step 4, if you fail above wich is almost statistically impossible, use a Petri flask.

If its in your own factions zone write /pvp and you will be untagged for PvP after 5minutes.

It amazes me that people can’t get DMF properly or unboon PvP flagged after 6years of wbuff hunting from 2019 Classic and Era. Boon is not good for the game, it is a bad game design and implementation like they have to babysit players.

Speaking like a true lawyer that replaces brain cells with paper. Completely fails to see that this is a gray area. The intention is griefing-adjacent.

Griefing: deliberately disturbing and irritating other players to ruin their gaming experience; like hindering their progress without breaking the game’s rules.

Do you kill players before they pick Songflower (or any other wbuff) …? No - why? You kill them AFTER they picked it because it maximizes the psycology impact behind griefing. Observing other players lose hours of progress or miss events etc gives a dopamine boost for some players.

If a raid of 40 people go as a group to pick DMF, just to be greeted with 80+ enemies who decides to stay and make them waste hours (Zone Camping) to get DMF BECAUSE THEY KNOW they are going to a raid - then it’s not PvP, it’s griefing. You can call it PvP, sure - but there’s still griefing involved. They should not be required to follow a step-by-step guide to get an event buff, that itself has a 4-8 HOUR cooldown to get, then that per se is bad game design.

As a senior developer, game designer and host of private servers for over a decade: this is bad game design meeting bad player behavior.

I know exactly how to get world buffs, but a well-designed system shouldn’t require constant babysitting - if so, then the critique is valid.

Boons are absolutely not bad game design; the requirement of world buffs and how to get them and avoid losing them to toxic players - that is DE FACTO bad game design.

DMF is an event buff, that has a cooldown, should imo work the same as a Flask. You get it, it lasts 2h, you don’t lose it when you die. You can get a new one after 4-8h. Problem solved.

You see, your problem is you accidentally picked a psychopath server that is there for psychopaths to grief each other, while you should have picked normal server for normal players.

World PvPers still ruin the game for everyone else i see
