Blizzard really seems to have it in for pet-classes in Delves

Thanks for the new Delve. It’s a nightmare to traverse if you are a pet class, as those portals can dump you right in the middle of mobs - And given the idiotic way the game works, your pets won’t follow you if you’re already in combat! Meaning a frantic dismiss and then quick recall of pets while in the middle of doing sod-all as (In my case) my BM can’t so-much as wipe his posterior without his pets.

Added to the fact that NO tank pets ever actually tank any more (What IS the point?) so that you constantly have to use many misdirects back on to pets just for a normal fight, and now these shenanigans in Delves, really makes me wonder if anyone tests anything out for Pets these days?

That last one was a rhetorical question, as the answer is clearly “no”.

You forgot the golden rule of WoW.

You play the way Blizzard decided you play.

What do you think they mean every time they put in dev notes “our vision”

Defy them by playing your way they’re going to make your gameplay miserable.

Now ditch the BM and play MM (NO PET!! THIS IS MM!!) or else.

It seems hit and miss sometimes they follow with a teleport to you when you jump platforms… other times they pull the entire delve same with Brann…

No pet when face tanking with the worst self heals lol… OK :stuck_out_tongue:

erm…

as a bm hunter i literally find delves too easy.

use the following macro

#showtooltip
/cast [@pet] Misdirection
/focus pet

use mend pet on cooldown, … ez.

I have simillar issue with warlock as well. The other thing I noticed is that the pets cant keep the aggro for too long.

ive cleared tier 11 delves in s3 and done the delve boss as bm hunter

For hunter, do not use mend or exhiliration when engaging groups
Use healer Brann, he will drop 3 pots around you frequently.
Just step on one as needed, cause these will not draw agro at all
unlike mend that have high agro.
Healer Brann is tanky and might pull some on him sometimes,
just focus on those last.

Use mend / exhiliration if clutch heal needed but just feign death after.
This works very well most of the time.

For portals and edges where you jump down and so on while in combat,
I think that issue with all content so just have to adapt I guess.
Unless they solve it somehow.

For demo warlock kinda same, at least what I do. Not sure about other spec,
since not play them much on solo content.

thats all on you and in your mind, you really do not matter to me.

thats all on you and in your mind

ok buddy… anyway

ill post other useful macros if i get the chance .

might help the OP

  • as i said prior to the this wierd mage guy , ive cleared tier 11 and done the delve boss
BM Hunter is easy to use
use the macros , it should keep a track of your Pets HP using the focus channel and jsut spam the macros on cooldown

Hopefully this will help with the pets

I’m yet to try delves this season, but last season BM hunter was waaaay easier than my mage. Pets were literally unkillable with Brann’s pots, no need to interrupt or do any mechanics, I could just stay at range, easily focus on grabbing pots, absolutely no stress. I really wish delves with a mage were as easy as BM hunter.

Well, You don’t have to rely on self heals, You can use healer Brann.

also i like to use the Gorilla Pet as BM for delves

it had 60% reduction in dmg below 50% hp ( special skill )

Not that it happens often but they do suffer to some AOE abilities which is strange but as you said stand at range and have fun.

Think you are just playing it wrong. I do my delves as marksman with a pet and I havent any issues using a pet at tier 11. But hunter has many tools that make it easier, feign death, defensives, misdirect.

There’s a talent that makes your misdirect make them tanky too.

I’ve done delves as survival also is also fine.
