Blizzard, what's the deal with heirlooms in Shadowlands?

Can a developer please let us know if there is any point in spending time and effort or gold on acquiring Heirlooms anymore?
With the level squish you cannot tell me that there isn’t a tiny chance that they will either get removed or consolidated from 5 items (lvl 60-90-100-110-120) into one lvl 60 Heirloom, thereby making grinding for them now a waste of time.

Please do the right thing and let us know in advance so we don’t waste time, effort or gold.

Well, they could divide everything by 2. So it would be some like this “Level 30-45-50-55-60”.

Grinding for them? You grind for heirlooms? lol

Return all of the gold spent by players on the heirloom armour.

Let players keep the heirloom weapons.

Best solution!

I am not good with code, but how much gold that has been spent should already be in the system in the form of heirloom level limit.

I upgraded just about everything apart from like two or three items :sob:

or grinding garrosh for the heirlooms…or grinding hfc for the trinkets…what a waste

Or a literal mountain of Timewarped Badges.

The EU-board has NO developers here. If you want to be taken seriously, then you have to register an US-account and post there.

Hmm… nah, let us just get gold.

It is only about 150k - 250k.

Give or take.

I did grind to get heriloom upgrades becasue I didn’t wanted to spend gold. So whenever there was a holiday in wow that allow you to buy heirloom upgrades for their currency I just grinded it on multipe chars to buy as much as possible.

I think they will consolidate the upgrades so base heirloom scales up to 50. So unless you realy realy need to get to max level fastfast then I advise not to spend gold.

There’s no need to upgrade all the heirlooms just one for each armor type and weapons for each spec. Trinkets, necks and rings don’t give any xp bonus so you can do without them.

The trinkets were from dungeons weren’t they or am I thinking of something else?

I made this thread t’other Day

Don’t worry, you’ll probably get them mailed and be able to sell them for the price you bought them.

They better not remove them or make them redundant. They have been removing enough things already. It devaluates collecting things for your account and makes any account related grinds feel like waste of time (because you never know when these rewards are taken away again).

just remove them at this point was anyway one of the worse additions to the game

The effort alone put into the darkmoon deathmatch trinket… O_O

I agree they should say what will happen to them with lvl squish coming.

Not even sure if worth playing BFA or even leveling alts now with SL coming out  Everything seems easier and faster in SL

We have been upgrading them for several expansions. This time I spent around 450k on upgrades. I’m sure someone can work out the full costs of upgrading from scratch plus buying them.

I am hoping heirlooms will still work though.

i’ll say what i said in the other thread.
i want to KEEP my looms. even with no exp boost i want to keep them because i use them (on alts right now to boost leveling speed aswell) as part of a uniform when i make a new character.
since they are not sellable i can pick wepon/chest/head/shoulders/cloak and not have to worry about upgrading them.
i pick something fitting for the character and stick with them, since they level as i do, i dont have to keep swapping my main set of gear unless i want to change the look.
if i find something better looking as im leveling, i swap to that look.
it lets me sell the stuff i get from quests and not feel like i need to save everything. because i save everything…i mean it. i have old stuff from vanilla on some of my aliance chars >.> i have a flippin QUIVER! still…

please let me keep my heirlooms as just that, hierlooms. take the exp if you have to but leave me my poor hand me downs

There is no information yet. There is a lot of time between now and then and I’m sure we’ll get to hear about more stuff as and when they figure out exactly what they want to do.
