Why do you always have to surprise people in a negative way by disabling the button at 00:00 22 February? Most players would assume that you would disable the button at scheduled maintenance when the game is unavailable anyways.
I was planning to do some leveling and clearing the mailbox before scheduled maintenance but now I am not even able to enter the world to do either. I assume that I cannot transfer characters if there is something in the mail and at least on one character there is.
Everyone does not live in the Blizzard forums like you do, Dottie. I read the post weeks ago and I remembered the date but did not remember the word “before” the date. I naturally assumed that it would happen at scheduled maintenance, and why wouldn’t I, the game is unavailable at maintenance anyways.
If Blizzard would have wanted to clearly inform players, they would have stated something like this: “Players should clear their mailbox before February 21st 23:59”. This way everyone would have been thinking about February 21st and not 22nd.
Would have been no problem for me if Blizzard would have done this with the regular maintenance routine, like they should have done it. I mean why close off the world 3 hours before maintenance? It’s like they wanted people to have their characters stuck in there.
The only reason they would be stuck characters is if they have mail, ok maybe guild GMs too. They may make a system to pick it up, I doubt it but they might.
