What’s the real reason to cap mmr this low for months, if later on you’re gonna add inflation anyway so ppl are gonna push like always, why you want your game dead for all season except the last 1-2 months? I can’t understand why you cap mmr like this, it only creates frustration and boredom. Just let people play and get their goals since day 1 if they want to.
Im sure their metrics suggest that this keep people subscribed for longer. If people can push their rating goals in start of the season they have no reason to play beyond that, where as now we have to stay subscribed so we can gear eventhough pushing rating is pointless meaning we´ll be around both now to gear n later to push rating once the artificial deflation is removed n replaced with inflation.
Its a terrible system mind you n im not defending it in any way i think its absolutely crap but i imagine thats how it works. We also have the issue of 2s n 3s playerbases being absolutely tiny to the point where they dont even make up 10% of the PVP playerbase anymore since the release of shuffle n after season 1 they whined n whined intill shuffle was artificially hardcapped in season 2 which made it the lowest participation season in wow history.
Tons of poor decisions stacked ontop of eachother essentially is the reason.
my game time ends in 14 days, see you last 7 days of the season.
yeah i dont blame you one bit, when you´re only interested in PvP n “new season” means we dont play the game for the following 6 months n the “new content” every season consists of blizzard removing our gear n telling us to repeat the same process every season to be able to play the content we enjoy n spend a ton of gold to enchant n gem said gear just to get back to square one.
I suppose you could call it a hell loop. If i dident have freinds i enjoy playing with i´d be long gone!
It’s not that we get the same gear, it’s just that i feel stupid to play now and push anything serious so i quit because blizzard gatekeeps the rewards.
To be honest it’s actually better than last season in this regard.
I’ve noticed the trend (at least for solo shuffle) that all my characters have 400-500 MMR less than their final rating of last season. E.g my warlock finished at like 2500 last season, and now my first game was at about 2050 mmr.
I don’t think the people with a Rival finish last season are going to get into that game.
The only way some R1 players are mixed with rivals is if they’re playing a completely fresh character that has no previous arena history and fresh MMR.
I faced Pyllymake, Gelubaba on their alts and they were doing their first or second game as about 2100 MMR.
For comparison, some of my more-forgotten alts that finished at like Duelist last season now got 1700-1800 mmr on the first game.
I think 2v2 already inflated somewhat because there’s very clueless players up to 1.8, especially the fotm DH-es who don’t really kill randomly anymore
Think 3v3 has the least inflation so far
First few months of seasons are tough since s2 yes. I hit almost 2k and I can reach 2100 if I keep queing but it will be time consuming, so I’ll wait for a few weeks complete my tier sets and acquire items until we get rid of people without a life and see a little bit mmr inflation. I won’t tryhard like I did last season, it causes burnout if your class is balanced and not overpowered…
Why ppl keep asking about such things? First, blizzard doesnt give a f about what you or me have to say. Second, its simple. Money. Blizzard doesnt care about anything but money. Thats why we are in this trash and it gets worse and worse every patch and the lowering player count is fixed by cheap money grabs and another layers of monetization. There is nothing too complex about it. Just find a different game that will appreciate you. As the former wow devs said, the company is inevitably dying, so is the game.
I played one solo shuffle as Marksman this season, and in that game there was x3 mongoloid melee with last season’s glad mounts. Of course I went 0-6 and was flamed by everyone.
Why do I even get put with these people? Start them off at a higher rating. I CBA spending a few weeks queueing against sweaty no-lifers. I did it last season for 1800 in the first week and I’m not bothering this time around.
Is that the usual Blood DK push timeframe ?
Most title actions happen the last 3 days for all specs, no point try harding start of season/mid season since no one is playing.
Looks to me like Brewzin is often safe way before that on most tank specs for instance. Other players could play earlier and do the same as well. I know that one of my two S1 titles actually ended up being safe 7 weeks before the end of the season, as well. You can run for the titles way earlier than the last days if you just defeat the enemy!
You are failing to take into account that people intentionally troll any spec that is not to their standards in wow pvp, you should see the whispers i get when i queue 2500 cr blood dk in shuffle.
He was anything but safe in the blood ladder, something he even likes which is competition, i think he didn’t made cutoff on brewmaster this season sadly, but dh and dk he got it.
hey if you guys have any interest on tanks i suggest follow some pretty interesting na characters shuffling careers whom im not permitted to name i believe, the guys hasnt qued nothing but protw/bdk entire df which is quite impressive since most are old mglad after all playing something else than tanks as tanks have not been viable in arena for r1 cutoffs before shuffles, they are often spotted posting on na forum
it seem shuffle protw/bdk r1 cutoffs on (2200mmr?) were moti enough for some to quit play arena entirely, i dont care but i find it interesting related as one of the results caused by shuffles
so i imagine for some the r1 is the only motivator and it doesnt matter which they achieve it as the actions of some of these proves, i just found this interesting
Well. I can count on one hand the amount of players who are tank mains or who were at least serious tank players before Solo Shuffle. All the others who attempt (and those who succeed) at getting RSS R1 on a tank spec are only doing so because they are unable to actually get it on their true main spec (very often a DPS spec of the class they play tank as), but are still decent at the game, so playing tanks lets them play against much worse opponents that they normally would on their DPS spec, and they (can) get a title for it, while they’d have to play against even better opponents that they normally would to get the same title on their main spec.
An easy decision if you care about the title more than you care about getting it because you’re amongst the best at your main spec. It is tactically smart to do it this way if you don’t care that it also implies that you weren’t good enough on your main spec and chose that path over improvement. And because quite a few people really, reaaaaaally care about the title itself more than anything else, they do that, because it is the best way for them to achieve what they care the most about.
i also noticed that none of these current na tank players often seen on their forums havent been r1 in past but they have multiple glads from previous expansions in any case, just found it interesting that they have now completely stopped playing anything arena related and are entirely only spending their time pushing either protw or bdk or both in shuffle and hitting r1s with those, i can kinda see the reason for it heh
Yep, it really does, nothing to add here.
world of tanks!
Just a question… anyone plays this game mode for the fun of it? Or just rushes in 3 days for the FOMO cosmetic rewards and then quits? If so, is the game still enjoyable for you guys or is more like a “chore” that you want to get done quick?
I admit some seasons I feel the same way, but it does make me feel guilty.
I think its a mix, see i would enjoy shuffle if the ques were fast. With how long the que times are i find myself exclusively queing to cap my vault weekly n im pretty sure they sneaky nerfed the honor gains from shuffle to the point where it takes ages to get full vault cap.
Last season the moment i was close to full conquest i stopped queing shuffle n just did LFR to cap vault to get my gem slots, why? because it unironically is like 80% faster.
For me its not about rating, i never cared much about it as i never use elite mogs anyways n even if i did ill get them even when playing very casually. The issue with these extremely long que times is that if i push rating i have to “bring my A game” just to cap vault without my rating tanking n with how long the que times are every game i play feels like a warmup game which makes me compelled to grind out the weekly shuffles in one sitting as opposed to spread it out.
For me it all boils down to the que times in the end which makes it feel very pointless to me as i spend more time waiting than playing, this is the reason it feels like a chore and if vault dident exist i likely wouldnt que at all, not because i dont enjoy it but because i dont want to wait 45 minutes for 10 minutes of gameplay.
