After the whole ‘will they, wont they’ of WQs Id just like to say as a forum regular and part time complainer that Blizzard should never base any decisions on what we say in here!
Its like a pack of rabid hyenas on a good day and caters to a very, very vocal minority alot of the time.
If you want a more balanced view then try random anonymous player surveys. Or listen to the most popular streamers/Youtubers coz luv 'em or hate 'em they got to be so popular by being very good at reading the community and knowing what is going down well and what isnt.
Forumites are a hardy bunch but we really shouldnt be trusted with big decisions (or sharp implements)…
Do not worry, they did notbase the decision on the forum. For example, is a fart based on the forum, the answer to the question is no. The reason for this is they do what they want without regard for the player, as all the business do now. They can say they get feedback on the forum on any side of the issue, even if they do not look on the forum at all, there is always someone who believes a thing.
and your opinion is based on? there are members who also love this game, they have been playing here for more years than any streamer and have ideas and opinions as valid as any wow player…
Listening to the community is listening to the forum, stremaers, making accounts, youtubers, all of this forms a community and everyone must be listened to.
Opinions like yours are the ones that stain “the forum”.
The only playerbase that has significant influence over the direction of the game are those who unsub and provide feedback as to why. When sufficient numbers of these give similar feedback on a specific reason then this will prompt a shift in direction from “the devs” (for want of a better term.
Last time I unsubbed was in WoD when flying was removed. I gave that as my main reason for leaving. When they re-introduced flying I came back.
I imagine a lot of players will have give feedback along to line of “Daily Chores” in recent times and Bliz will wish to change-up how the daily activity schedule works to see if it works better.
If you see “chores” in videogames it means you are no longer seeing it as a videogame and deff need to reconcider your relationship with videogaming in general…
The dev’s should never take those message serious. As you can see, they listened to them and instantly regretted it.
Sure, they could have choosen to not listen to those of us who said why we were leaving and I guess some might have gone back. Who knows what the numbers would have been. I certainly intended to stay gone when flying was removed. Legion might have have tempted me back but I might have hit Stormheim and said there will never be flying here and left again and not come back.
Sub numbers are all that matters to a game like this. SL will have tanked the numbers and this is why the game is changing in so many ways now.
My personal opinion is: just send surveys each time they have doubts.
That includes inactive accounts, people may return once a feature they disliked is removed, something is improved, introduced, who knows
One thing is certain: each person has his own way to enjoy WoW and there always be bickering over it.
So let the “silent majority” so many players advocate they are speaking for finally speaks.
Buuuut wouldn’t that mean that they shouldn’t listen to you since you’re on the forum which means they will listen to forumers but then they would listen to you but then they won’t listen to forumers because they listened to you…
Wait saying on the forums not to listen to the forums is a paradox. If you don’t listen to them, after reading your thread, you’ve thus listened. If you listen to them and follow the advice, you’re failing because you didn’t not listen.
I want Ion to go to the Maw with Sylvanas as much as the next man, but this is unfair!
