Blizzards pathetic response to 20% of Stitches server dying to their issues

Hello,

my name is Game Master Xotacair and I’ve just read your ticket.

First I want to apologize for the delay. Due to the current Situation around WoW 10.1.7 and also Diablo IV there is an extreme amount of tickets. We are working as best as we can to lower the waiting times.

Now, in regards to your issue.

There has indeed been an issue, it has been identified and it is being worked on.

However, that being said, we are unfortunately unable to restore dead Hardcore Characters.

I understand that this is not the Answer you wanted to hear, it is however, the only one we can give in this matter I’m afraid. And I still wish you all the best.

Best Regards

Just curious; but how do you know the figure is 20% who died?

Bye blizzard. Taking my money elsewhere

Now tell us what was the answer you expected since you agreed with everything he said once you’ve decided to create a new character.

Hello,

I would like to ask if I can do something when I can’t log in to my character and it says “A character with that name already exists”, it is a character named “Tomyxl”. I already tried to find a solution here on the forum, but nothing helped.

If I died to a simple DC fine. When the number of deaths exceeds 1-2k (numbers taken from discords and death logs) from a gigantic lag into mass DC it’s something else entirely

Well OP, you obviously never read this.

Apparently it was ~2k

Dunno about server cap but if it’s 10k then yeah, that would be 20%

Close your WoW client and close BNet Launcher. At some point the server should register that there is no client and remove your character from the world (like ALT-F4).
Or make another character and log in, maybe that drops off your „logged in“ character.

Maybe - but where has that figure come from? Who says it’s 2k? Reddit?

I think it’s just a guesstimate.

Well it didnt help me :frowning: both things i already did

We all read that. When my character died on Wednesday I thought ok bad luck and started again. But this happening for a 4th day in a row to thousands of players is not acceptable.

That’s the thing, most people just blindly click on “I agree” without reading it then complain when something goes wrong that’s specially mentioned in that box…

I agree it’s not acceptable but again, the box says it could happen.

Then use the unstuck feature, maybe that does kinda reset your character.
If that doesn’t work, only a ticket or server restart hopefully will.

I am curious, if you login with another same faction toon (from the same account) and do /who Tomyxl , do you see your own character online?

They csnt prove who and who didnt die due to mass lag. And if they responded to these problems people would just stsrt fake DCing and number of claims would quite litterally recreate the same thing.

The lags unacceptable.

Because it says it could happen doesn’t mean it should. I don’t mind my character dying on Wednesday but I can’t accept nothing is being done to prevent other players losing their characters. Taking down the servers and few days of game time compensation is not too difficult to implement.

Exactly this, Dottie is an obnoxious Blizzard fanboy whos been talking down to people like this for years. Safe to just ignore.

It doesnt matter if Blizzard has a disclaimer that server instability can happen, what matters is that Blizzard is offering a service for money. If they dont deliver that service (e.g. servers not working) then they are liable to be sued, no matter what disclaimer they put up. There are consumer laws for a reason.

We agree about that but server issues can happen at any time and with no warning.

I say it how I see it, which includes slagging off Blizzard when they deserve it.

That is clearly not true. I suggest you try and sue them.

Except that Classic is a value added service, as in you don’t pay for it, like these forums, no matter how people think, these servers are added for nothing to the subscription to the main retail game.

There are way too many warnings since Wednesday.
