9.1 expectations: new area, new legendaries/+1 cap, vault rng fixed, tor’ghast & maw removed, new customizations, new heritage, new bg/arena, new currency, more fixes, more changes.
9.1 reality: new quests, more quests, new battle pets, new more grind mounts, more maw, more tor’ghast, more raid & more dungeon.
It’s just a standard update. Nothing that gets me hyped about it if i’m being honest. I like the pathfiner mount for venthyr. And i’m a fan of their sets, and having a new raid and dungeon, etc.
But all the issues i have with shadowlands are yet to be resolved.
And valor doesn’t even come close to resolving the gearing issue for me.
So i’m not really hyped about anything. But i’m ok with it enough to play.
To be honest i have no idea why they came up wit blizzcon in February…3 months after original date. They could make Blizzcon online in September '20 this would make no different. I had hope for something cool, but they just announced normal patch…and all of this was available on reddit forum few days earlier…
It was funny how they told us what we’d like to see for the future of our covenant.
It was like:“Hey, we literally run out of ideas, so could you please tell us what to do with the covenants ”
But overall it was okay. I’m fine with the story but I’m also very concerned about the release date… Everything felt like an expansion announcement, very sketchy and unfinished. I think we have to deal with sire for a long time before 9.1 hits.
In both legion and BFA, new zones etc etc came with .2 not .1 so I wasn’t rly expecting any of that.
.1s are generally a round off of the campaign before the new lands introductions etc etc.
So no, ain’t rly dissapointed seems like we got more then I expected atleast 🤷
We asked for less to do per day. Like the biggest demand during BFA was less to do per week. Return to the days when characters feel complete.
So I was expecting to see quite abit less daily content.
But this goes to show really why the game had these infinite grinds and time demanding borrowed powers… because without them there’s not alot to do.
And that isn’t just wow, ESO, FFXIV and more are all the same. The end game eventually dissolves to the point where Ur only weekly things to do are Ur weekly dungeons and Ur raids on each reset.
Imho I don’t mind SL pacing I go home and feel like I don’t have to log in every day. However that may change depending on the feedback over this expansion.
As alot feel like we are in a content draught because the games lacking those normal daily grind features.
The game just got alot more optional effectively, but it is proving content without power gains isn’t seen as content.
Not gonna say it’s a good or bad thing it’s entirely opinonated. I felt like BFA burnt me out quickly with how much I had to do each day.
Yup, not only when it comes to WoW. Pretty much the whole opening ceremony was super boring with nothing interesting. Blizz is out of juice. And D4 wont be out for another 5 or so years…
What you mean? The Valor system is gonna let me farm +2s to obtain rewards above +15s?? How isn’t that changing anything
Meta no longer matters. Do Ur 1 15 of every dungeon on a meta class log off log on Ur favorite class spam +2s and upgrade the rewards to 220
That Valor system is account wide. Which means all Ur Alts can also get 220 gear off low keys!
That’s the most alt friendly system that’s come into this game in a decade
The rest of it isn’t failures. It’s what was expected. They weren’t gonna remove the conduit system in 9.1. it was never a expectation.
And the covenants are already like that. But swapping covenants is exaggerated to start with its 2 days of fill the bar and Ur back…
Far better then any other grind that has existed in the last 6 years.
Ye the covenant stuff is crap, but the Valor system does improve lots of things it may not be 100% what we want. But it will fix alt problems. It will fix the fact m+ will now be more rewarding then heroic raiding.
M+ is now effectively a end game progression system againm between the vault and the Valor upgrades we can climb to 226 far easier.
Now is there further things I want? Yes. But I won’t say the Valor system is bad… however I do kinda wish they added extra
+18 - 226
+20 - 233 weapon.
This would of aligned it with mythic raiding. As it can access 226 / 233 items.
to be honest, im only disappointed in the fact, we seem to be taking the fight to the maw a bit too soon in my view. Don’t get me wrong, the cinematic fits in well with whats happened so far. I just feel like fighting sylvanas, tarrogue, etc, just seems too soon… especially for everyones expectation of sylvanas and the redemption arc… Korthia not sure on as well to be honest, i guess i’m alright with it haha
The other thing to add is, they didn’t really mention anything about the covenant in balance… hopefully it’ll get said at the Q&A today. But they seem to be still heavily favouring Kyrian/Night Fae even with these changes coming to 9.0.5
Yeah. No matter what they do some people will not like it and think it’s broken and bad. Can’t please everyone. For the record I don’t think shadowlands is perfect so don’t get me wrong.
I hope you know it’s not account wide right ? It is now but it won’t be when valor comes out. The achievement might still be but not the upgrades tied with it. It’s been confirmed already
No expansion will ever not carry problems. I think the changes coming will patch up the current problems quite abit though.
As I say there’s still critism that could be made. But we will never see a expansion without that not even the original trio vanilla, tbc and WoTLK were perfect.
Really? Well Oki no Alts it remains for now til they change that well atleast after I do my +15s I don’t have to worry about getting into +15s as much anymore.
Was under the impression it was tied to the account via the achievements.
If it isn’t surely +220 should be tied at the final progression, being +14s.
