Block certain names of being used

I’m not far from Newcastle, so not too far from Scotland here either :slightly_smiling_face:.

Yep, Americanised slang does usually manifest itself as a red flag to me.

Dachau is also the name of a City. In that case Blizzard needs to censor/ban all city names as character names without exception and not just the capitals of countries (and even here they don’t cover them all. Not even in Europe). Good luck with that. There are also people with said name on US realms.

Your report will have gotten ignored anyhow.

Because its also the name of a city near the capital of Bavaria and given Germans have the HC as part of their basic education one can make the difference between the CP and its history and the City itself. Also the attempt to go hard on such irrelevant stuff with censoring and punishment will only end up backfiring and serve as fodder for every right wing party (as is evident given the last 10 years throughout Europe)

Or its someone from the very same city.

And if you actually saw someone with the name of “Dachou” then odds are high you encountered a weeb given what google spits out.

Hmm Blackkoala, that sounds offensive.

My truth is the love language where a Bro is vibing and it is what it is, you dig love?

Haha I used to play stormscale horde too!

I’m from Cramlington but I’ve moved to Ashington (ugh)

We should find all the north easy WoW players for a coffee :coffee:

Exactly my thoughts when I was reading the post. lmao

In Polish language it means “<someone, put here who like name etc.> is peeing at this very moment”, and it is not the worst in WoW you can see in Polish Language context i.e. cruse words are also there. :see_no_evil:

But on a serious note - it would be next to impossible to find name that wouldn’t mean something in other language - so I guess devs are checking all names etc in supproted versions of WoW but not all languages in the world.

Of coruse naming your char in a way it would break the reules i.e. naming after dictators or contretation camps should be rewarded with ban or rename.

Yeah man, these people with their offensive names are out of control. We need to stop them somehow.

It is sufficent punishment as you are told to change the name .now if you insist on keep changing it to the same name that they are telling you to change .yeah then harsher punishment is very much warranted and acceptable

What about Kungen?

What like R Kelly?

Right? Yeah, Stormscale has been good to me so I stayed here. I do have one character on AD but have never played him yet.

You’re closer to town than I am haha. I’m from South Shields but yeah, we should! North East WoW players seem to be a rare find.

The example the OP used would be considered this in my case, so I am sure this can be the case for some of the names you are thinking of too. Dachou just sounds like a name to me. I had zero idea of any of the things the OP said about it, and with a region with so many languages, how are you suppose to keep track of all this? There are normal words in some languages(or names), that are offensive in another. It’s pretty obvious Blizzard can’t keep track of this unless you tell them spesificly and they can evaluate it.

We do not have a random name generator for the european servers for this reason, as far as I know. There is a chance the game itself would have generated an offensive word in some random european language.

Yeah, I mean I could try. I only ever use Discord to get info that I need but it can’t be that hard.

I’ll do that. I wanted to see how different it is playing on a realm like that, so I made a character and never used it lol. I’ll give it a go after work one night this week.

I think I made a DI Dwarf on AD, although I prefer Forsaken so I’ll have a think on it.

Back in the 2000s there used to be loads of WoW players hanging round at the hippy green in town :joy:

I remember! I wasn’t part of either group but I used to see the charvs at the top around the edges and then the more gothy lot (presumably the WoW players) in the middle when I was passing.
