Oh…you only know the U.S from
the Simpsons…
Although I’m not even quite sure what you mean by ‘in Simpsons style’?
I thought you were talking about the U.S in geographical terms.
As for cultural then I see it, for example, in Stormwind and Quel’thalas, even the Orcs and Tauren, unironicly.
Sorry, I managed to read past this question - I am slightly tired now
It’s a bit hard to explain… There is the real american culture, and there is the fabricated american culture we see on tv, the one where Homer, any hero in an american war movie or cheesy sitcom makes sure everyone knows about how big and great america is - we can even see it on the buildings when they show them.
We don’t see the fabricated America in WoW.
But we don’t really see the real America either, after some thinking I could maybe believe Dalaren could represent a little America.
Kaløyan did suggest Orgimmar, were I dismissed it, but maybe that could also be a good representation of America with the small towns in the town - a collection of cultures inside another culture.
I don’t know if I can explain myself better at this hour
I have to disagree.
Blood Elves have been essential part of Warcraft lore since Warcraft III.
Their design in general dated since there, and I don’t think that Blizzard catered to the Asian community then.
All WoW Elves have long eyebrows and ears…what about Night Elves?
High Elves, Blood Elves, are all known for being fairer than most races so naturally they are considered the prettier race and thankfully they finally made their way to the Horde.
Horde is definitely a faction I’d never touch had it not been for Blood Elves. I am not fond of brutish races nor of the current Undead model.
And imo, I feel WoW Elves are some of the most unique Elf designs I’ve seen. I love those long eyebrows!
But sometimes I do wish they were Alliance, considering the sh*tshow that Horde is having with storywriting and the warchiefs changing every expansion.
It’s something I read long ago from a supposedly dev and judging by the available races back then, I’m inclined to agree.
There weren’t many reasons for blood elves to join the Horde who has nothing in common with them besides an undead Sylvanas who at the end of the day doesn’t care about them.
And the Garritos captain is honestly not representative at all of the Alliance, plus Lor’themar considered joining the Alliance in MoP.
To me it’s basically “let’s add a cute and human-like race” to get more hordies which did indeed worked. The Horde has a tremendous amount of Blood Elves and now in the Alliance with the future changes, we have damn Void Elves too.
Some helmets do, but I’ve noticed only for very few plate or mail helmets and not the pretty ones.
A strange thing for a dev to say considering Blood Elves literally showed up in Warcraft 3 with those same looks. They’re equivalent for the playable High Elves basically.
Horde is pretty much a faction of misfits and underdogs and Blood Elves fit in. Aesthetically no, but considering their past, very much yes.
Same can be said for Nightborn who look more like Night Elves with these player models than anything else sadly.
But that aside.
Realistically, a lot of people would just not play Horde without the Blood Elves, myself included. >> And on another hand, they do have some rich lore and are more Warcraft than most of the new races that got added.
But yup, I’d rather have them on Alliance side personally because I just hate Horde aesthetics and story and I am not fond of Void Elves and their poor representation D:
But they didn’t. Thats the point, and when the Sunwell was defiled, they didn’t then either. Again, documented in Lore. Also a reminder, High Elves -changed- from Night Elves which they were.
Well you’re the one who brought maturity into it, but what you haven’t brought into it is any evidence.
I don’t think you do. That does not class as an insult by the way, an insult would be calling someone a moron, as you have, or (Redacted) as you have, or insulting their ability to read, as you have.
You are though. I’m very good at reading, thanks, War and Peace makes rattling good reading, though the first hundred pages are a bit slow, but that is character building up, the Brothers Karamazov is excellent, how someone can write a whodunnit mystery when you already know who did it, is a masterpiece of literature. I read a lot for enjoyment so I -think- I am fairly good on that front.
You are not able to provide me with an example where I have directly insulted you then? That’s a shame, I can provide you with various examples of you insulting others and myself.
That is quite interesting, I did not know that, I thought they were indigenous to South America! Cheers for that.
Yeah, it is based on the British Isles, and indeed that area of England. This time they got it more or less right, rather than Gilneas, which just sounds like a Dick Van Dyke accent.
I know the passage you mean, said person also said “I vaguely remember” Which is not a solid reason “We did a poll in Korea I think” Hold the press, International company does a market research poll!
There were a lot of reasons, lets go over them.
Garithos. Now he wasn’t just one racist when he arrested Kael’thas are we supposed to believe that -one- human racist managed to arrest one of the most powerful Archmages in the world, and -all of his army- on his own?
Nah, he had an army, which means a lot of his army were complicit in this. so yeah, they were representative of the Alliance, else Kael’thas would just have fireballed him or ordered his soldier’s to kill the dude.
2.The Night Elves attacked Quel’thalas. The Arcane Sanctums which they specifically targetted had two purposes, they aided in keeping Sin’dorei buildings up (Remember, Silvermoon is not bricks and mortar, it was rebuilt overnight by magic, without a continuing power source it will crumble just like the buildings we see in Ghostlands, which were never really repaired.) a function that the Fel Crystals in Silvermoon fulfilled also. The Night Elves were also perfectly happy killing Blood Elves just going about their business in their own country, and it is heavily implied that Ironforge was complicit in this(not confirmed, but enough to give strong reason to believe that they were) The Forsaken on the other hand, had actually sent people to help. Their motives may have been shady, but they did offer practical aid when the Sin’dorei needed it. Basically the Alliance drove the Sin’dorei into the Horde, the same as they did to the Vulpera.
Well, I mean we all know that was never going to -actually- happen, but the reasoning at the time was sound. Garrosh had failed as Warchief to uphold the Blood Oath of the Horde, he was no longer “My Warchief” to the rest of the Horde, but simply caring for his Orcs. He used the Blood Elves as cannon fodder in MoP, so Lor’themar, being an elf (And we know elves are fickle) went “Hells with you, You ain’t the boss of me anymore” and opened negotiations with Varian. Which Jaina of course ruined. Of course she did 1) Jaina is mental, and 2) they weren’t exactly going to force a chunk of the playerbase to swap faction.
You think they’re cute? I mean I main one, and I think they look cruel and angular, of all the words to describe them, I would never use ‘Cute’ I mean, I suppose in the original definition of the word I would, because it meant something that you -should- find physically unpleasant, but is nonetheless appealing. (Thats a really old usage)
So yeah, cruel, violent, selfish elves totally fit with the Horde…
I personally think full beard looks bad on them. (Just my view on it ofc, tastes differ! )
Blood Elves are kind of like Warcraft’s version of Tolkien elves, and it’s the closest thing to Tolkien Elves we’ll get in this game.
As for hairstyles, I really love what they have. I don’t consider most of the hairstyles as feminine, but rather majestic and elf-like, especially the long loose hair, the long hair with ponytail like Brigante’s one and the braided hairstyle which I find to be one of the best as it reminds me of HoMM5 Sylvan Elves.
But aye, tastes differ and I’m always open for more options.
Would be really nice if Blizzard expanded more on customization and offered us MORE.
Imagine if Blood Elves got the tattoo/rune customization like from TBC cover?
Or if they got more of those wood elf hairstyles with braids and like Lor’themar?
Imagine if they got beard style like Nozdormu’s humanoid form? Or beard like Lor’themar too?
Customizing posture, expression etc…Gosh there’s so much they could give us D: I just hope they won’t stop at what we currently got in beta, as I find it a bit underwhelming so far.
But…I can agree that female Blood Elves do look a little off with their customization options. It’s hard giving them a dignified/majestic Elf-like look. They’re too skinny and too…hmm…idk. I mean as a woman I can’t really play one myself, I main a male Blood Elf DK because they’re just badass xD
There’s only one of the short hairstyle that I like, massively disappointed in the 2 new beards though !
As for female BE, I’m really happy I can make one with black skintone + golden eyes, feels awesome. But yea they’re just wayyyyy too skinny, sadly I don’t see Blizzard adding extra body models.
Oh aye aye, they can do with more I’m always up for that
Would definitely be welcoming, considering that they do lack shorter hairstyles.
For my BElf rogue I wanted a hairstyle that is somewhat shoulder-length to give him a scoundrel-like look, but it is not possible D:
Disappointed with the options in SL so far…really hoping for more.
But I’m rocking the 2 braids silver hairstyle on my DK, they look amazing!
Gotta agree with this. I feel that you can make a proper Egyptian-like female Blood Elf with those options.
Black skintone + golden jewelry (the eagle/phoenix necklace) + golden eyes and the long braid hairstyle
Not joking the only game where I can create such character is Skyrim/Oblivion with mods. But this is due to the classic image people have of elves.
There’s no other game, especially online, where you can make a chocolate elf let alone with golden eyes. Maybe Ashes of Creation since there’s an elf race with darker skintones but I’ve yet to see in-game images of them.
There where not just within south america… you can go to wikipedia to look it up even though tthey mostly stayed in mexico buts thats still a part of the north america continent…
Yes they did as it does show in lore and yes i know they were nighelfs before and even before that they were a troll species. And yes i have given evidence on your immaturity but for you to know that you would actually have to read instead of pretending not to see the respond wich you keep showing that you refuse to dow when people respond to you. And yes it does class as an insult as i have proven that i do no the lore an by that you make insult that i dont have knowledge of what i speak of so tell me in what way is it not an insult to mock someones knowledge on the subject? even though you keep showing that you dont know it and that makes you insult making even less sense. No im not dodging it as i have already shown you and clearly you are not good at reading if i have to repeat myself as many times as i have already done and you still refuses to see it when given the answere at several diffrent times. And yes i can as provide when you have insulted me as i have already done it several times i just did it in my last comment so ones again you show that you have difficult to read when people respond to you.
Be thinkin everyone havin difficulty readin what ya respond with mon! Its not an easy feat for even a scholar from silvermoon to figure out what ya be talkin about when ya won’t use dem paragraphs or any grammar.
Sadly by blizzard giving them void elf’s they pretty much told alliance players “keep asking ( crying ) for it and we will give up and add it at some point”
I always though Mexico was more central America, but equally I always though they were more southern, huh, fascinating, cheers for that.
Yes, I know that, they were descendants of the Sunstriders and similar families of the HIghborne who were exiled
No, just you.
No it doesn’t, as I mentioned I know nothing of nuclear physics, so if someone said “You don’t know anything about nuclear physics” I would answer “No, you’re right, I don’t know anything about nuclear physics, how much do you know about history?” That’s not an insult.
But you are, and as I mention, my reading comprehension is very good, thank you.
Yes you can? Then would you be kind enough to provide us all with an example, can’t be difficult, just copy and paste the example. You keep saying you have answered several times, when in fact you have not answered once.
Also punctuation and spacing are useful when trying to make yourself understood, just an observation, not an insult.
