Blood Pact (imp buff) gives more stamina than the spell tooltip says. I have tested it with 3 different warlocks. One without points in improved imp and two with 3/3 improved Imp which should give 30% bonus stamina for Blood Pact.
Without improved Imp, Blood Pact gave 54 stamina at level 60.
With improved Imp, Blood Pact gave 62 stamina at level 60.
Blood Pact tooltip says it gives 42 stamina when it gives 54 stamina without talents.
Even weirder is that improved Imp seems to only give about a 15% increase to the stamina (62/54 = 1.148) when it should give a 30% increase.
We tried removing all gear and got the same results. No other buffs were used while testing. We tested this on alliance (no Tauren racial). I can’t think of anything else that might affect this, any ideas?
He probably tested it on a warlock with 5 talent points in Demonic Embrace, which gives an additional 15%. With both improved imp and demonic embrace my warlock seems to get the expected 62 stamina atleast.
Thank you I didn’t think of Demonic Embrace, which accounts for the one lock that got 62 stamina from Blood Pact - it was specced into 5/5 Demonic Embrace and 3/3 Improved Imp.
However, this does not explain why a warlock that had 0/3 Improved Imp has a Blood Pact that gives 54 stamina. I wasn’t playing on the warlock but they assured me that they had zero points in demonology.
The tooltip of the imp’s ability is correct, the buff tooltip itself isn’t. The Health/stamina gained appears to be correct with both improved imp and demonic embrace, so my guess is that the op either got tricked, or was testing with someone not knowing what they were doing.
