I expect we’ll see the challenge mode stuff reappear in future remix stuff and tower rewards, again, I don’t think many people really care.
I play the game for myself to have fun and enjoy the content and hopefully others enjoy the content as well, while I’m in their group. Furthermore, I don’t play the game to show off pixels as some food of life achievement to use as pickup lines at the local Games Workshop!
There’s definitely some bait and switch to Blizzard’s communication these days, and increasingly so. And it’s the same in their other games.
They’ll often have an event or a sale and it’s THE ONLY CHANCE or THE LAST CHANCE to obtain or buy something.
And then players will flock to it like crazy.
And then that’s supposed to be it.
But they obviously look at all the participation or sales it got them, and then they can’t help doing it again.
“Yeah we said it was the last chance, but this time it’s really the last chance!”
Overwatch is a great example where they sold some K-pop skins at Blizzcon and it was supposed to be only at Blizzcon. But obviously those skins sold so exceptionally well that they dug up some arbitrary reason to sell them again. Because why make all the money when you can make all the money twice?
And that’s also the way it is in WoW. If something is popular and generates engagement or sales, Blizzard will milk it for all it’s worth. Nothing is holy, because it’s all business.

I get where you’re coming from, but it’s doubtful it’s going to happen because either
at the time they had every intention of never bringing this item back, and therefore couldn’t tell you this would happen
or
they always planned to bring this back (5 years later?) but didn’t want people to not use their gold on the BMAH
That said, your friend spending a million gold on a mount means they had a million gold to spare. They could’ve not bought it and saved a million more for the spider mount - regardless they got what they wanted from their gold, that’s hardly a “waste”
would be cool i mean we have a new tmog mount too now. inam fine with a new different mount like the grizzly bear. but it will never happen.
I got mine from an event in the game.
It was originally a reward during WoW’s 15th Anniversary celebration and was earned by defeating the three “Chromie’s Memories” events , consisting of a total of nine iconic raid bosses from WoW’s past.

I think its cool people can get it. I just dont like the whole BMAH thing. Like surely they would have known its coming back?

There is no guarantee that anything you get on the BMAH is going to just be on the BMAH.
Many were available through other means first.

I get that. But usually, things go on there after they have went out of effect. So the BMAH is the only way to get it. So you assume thats the only way to get it. Like this.
For example, people spend gold cap on the brutrosaur on BMAH. Theey would be pretty annoyed to do that, and then blizz let you get one for free.
I don’t assume that. They seem to be doing a lot to make things more readily available where possible. Just look at the Trading Post, Twitch, Prime etc promotions they’ve done.
If you’ve spent a lot of money IRL or in game to get something you will probably have had the benefit of that item a lot longer than anyone coming to these events for the anniversary. Same as I’ve had it for free as I was playing during the 15th Anniversary.

If they knew they were going to put it up here for free, they should have taken it off the BMAH. Thats how “I” feel about it.
Anyway at the end of the day it is what it is. But I wish they would think anout things like this. Especially when you try and bring it up on forums and people just bombard you with smugness as it didnt happen to them.
You bought it for gold for a reason… you lost nothing 6 years later…

If you stood in line for a good hotdog and spend $15 on it, and then after you had paid, they started giving everyone behind you the hotdogs for free, would you be a bit miffed you spent $15 on a hotdog everyone else got for free?
After 6 years… I think the hotdog would be off… I got the Deathwing mount and could careless its up again…
Also did you enjoy that hotdog at the time…

BMAH is indeed a waste of gold.
Only buy stuff from it if you can’t deal with the uncertainty of something coming back or/and if you want it straight away.
I like the mount and I’m glad others can enjoy it. All fine for me.
If its really recently, he can always try a ticket for a refund. Just don’t expect to get it but you can always try.

Okay, which one is it. Has Blizz specifically said the mount is just going to be in the BMAH only with no chance of it being released again outside of it or was that just you assuming that? If it’s the former shame on Blizz, if it’s the latter shame on you.
Just screams blizz has run out of ideas just give out old items, with either them just making no effort and giving the same item again or just recolour it, it’s the blizzard gartner, laziness
