Which is good, fear of getting scammed will surely reduce the number of people wanting boosts.
The other way around is what will actually happen.
Let’s take a scenario where boosting is no more.
A person with +14 credentials is surely good enough for a +14, and there is no reason to deny them entry to +14 or +15, therefor they won’t feel the need to do +12-14s in order to be able to play.
This means not many over qualified players will be queueing for a +12, so the group leaders of the +12 bracket will have to settle for people closer to the real qualification of +12.
Since most people that have done +12 will be interested in +13, not many will queue for +12s
So the leaders of +12s will have to give a chance to +10-11 players, and since these players obviously earned their way to +10-11, there won’t be fear that they can’t do +12, as difficulty jumps in these levels isn’t that big.
Now take this concept and apply it to everywhere around the game.
This eliminates the problem on two fronts, one that over qualified players won’t feel the need to play way below their qualifications, and the other is that there will no longer be fear that the person queueing is not qualified enough.
Of course benchmarks with difficulty leaps such as +9>+10 and +14>+15 will still exist, but they wouldn’t be as big of leaps as they are now, which is a good thing for the community.
I think you’re way optimistic about this. People asking others to be overqualified was hardly a result of boosting. It has been around for as long as I can remember and that was long before boosting communities.
this is just another example of this company being retarded, they should have implemented rio addon thing where it shows the score of main character, or atleast the highest score on account

Also buyers were always at risk regardless of how these boosting groups operated, getting scammed is a lesson that some unfortunately have to learn from.
Not about us “exposing” ourselves. It’s about us having to go spam tradechat and such as well. I don’t personally have an issue with advertising in tradechat but I’ve seen plenty of people complain about the current amount already.
Boosters behaving badly got struck and banned within the communities. If you bought a boost and you didn’t get what you paid for you at least got your gold back. If you get scammed now there’s nobody to report to. And if you think that’s a good thing because it discourages buying boosts, why not just ban boosts all together?

Also, I think it’s a bit unclear if Blizzard means only boosting communities, like these umbrella organisations such as Nova, or if they mean any kind of organisation or “organised run”, such guilds offering boosts in and of themselves. I’d like them to clarify this.
