Yeah of course it needs to be enforced, that goes without saying.
the only reason I was playing the game for last few months was to boost, already got glad so no point playing the rest of the season other than boosting. So it actually promotes the game rather than destroys it. Also it makes Blizzard nice amount of money from buyers buying tokens so its a win win win for everyone.
It could also be the near limitless healing because mana didn’t run out EXCEPT
It could also be that, because healing doesn’t run out, we punish all healers equally as a function of time no matter how well they played.
It could also be classes doing half of their damage through Azerite powers and the like.
It could also be people getting randomly one-shot by an off-screen proc from a corruption effect.
It could also be massively overpowered CD’s that deletes people and then grinds the game to a halt for minutes afterwards.
It could also be every class having like 28 cooldowns (including the rotational and “small” ones like dispels and kicks) and it being nearly impossible to keep track of what they can do as a result.
It could also be the incredible amount of visual noise where weak spells have flashy effects and strong spells don’t look like much at all.
It could also be haste going completely over the top.
It could also be everyone suddenly losing a bunch of armor during a season where melee and hunters were too strong.
It could also be warriors virtually sharing a health pool with their partner (lol intervene last season)
It could also be the ever-stacking burrowed power systems.
It could also be the 250% or so scaling from honor gear to max gear. (compare % of health lost after strong attack against weak player vs weak attack against strong player)
It could also be the weird scaling mechanics that cause people to be able to unequip their gear and hit people for millions of damage.
It could also be completely ridiculous abilities from soulbinds causing people to complain endlessly about conduit swapping and covenant imbalance. Weren’t the 2 base spells enough?! I have basically been locked out of PvP because I want to raid due to that ridiculous talent tree!
It could also be the breakdown of the sense of world making it hard to find likeminded PvP’ers.
It could also be a number of other things that’s happened in recent expansions…
And yeah, it’s the boosting, too.
sigh
I’m pretty sure humanity would go extinct in several years if they legalized all drugs everywhere. It’s not about “happens/not happens”, it’s about at what scale it happens.
If service will carry risk of account ban - both demand and supply will decrease drastically.
Again this “yes/no” way of thinking. Yes there will be boosting but it will be much less.
It actually destroys it for many new players who give up on pvp after being hammered by gods themselves on trash crs.
For everyone but fair players who just want to play for fun.
The best way to learn is to play vs people that are better than you
No one is forcing anyone to buy boosts. You can find people that are in the same boat as you are. Now that won’t fix arena obviously. But you can atleast start by doing low keys untill you get some gear, climb that way with those players, join a guild to do some raiding if you like that kind of content.
As for arena, if you’ve played previous xpacs you should know that you would get demolished as well if you just started out on a fresh character with no pvp gear. Sure, now you are getting creamed by boosters, everyone is, but back in the resilience days you did not have to face boosters to get clapped by people that already had their pvp gear.
Also DK’s are not tanky in arena what are you on.
- better in skill, not gear (you learn nothing by being beaten to a pulp by 250ilvl monster)
- better to certain extent, not gods that oneshot you in every game giving zero chance
This is true but early season the difference is not so huge.
Yes I think it wasn’t so bad early on, but as expansion goes it progresses to worse problem due to bigger gear differences and generally boosting occurs more often.
What suggestion do you have to fix it? make everyone have equal gear?
Prevent providing and buying boosting in ToS. Yes some can still find ways around it but at least it will be more tedious and risky, so won’t be that widespread and “user-friendly”.
Well, that will never happen since it makes them too much money from buyers buying tokens
night fae dh btw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EYN_iMAfHo
)
I must add Vanilla servers what they did deliver was the worst of the worst private server exp. Cheaters/ bots got so shameless and so many, I could pay at dung entrance to bot few golds and its would just pull whole dungeon with flying hack. I wont touch any of their other projects or classic servers.
i was boosted to level 60 back in 2006 in 1 day by my worshipers
so boosting has alweys existed in wow …
Actually, the best way to learn is to play vs people that are on a similar level to you. You only learn from people with a much higher proficiency if they are providing you directly with constructive and actionable feedback.
are u a cult leader?
For those trolls telling me I shouldn’t trinket first stun of sub rogues before they pop cds or that they can’t kill in first stun - (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrfp7FN1ED0
).
That rogue even had worse gear. Yeah ok priest helped him but just a tiny bit and I’d die anyway from rogue alone. Oh and if healer trinkets to save me he’ll just get blind and that’s free minus trinket for them.
Absolute bs spec. If I don’t trinket - I die, if I trinket - I die later, gg (it’s virtually impossible to prevent reset since vanish gives several seconds of immunity to breaking stealth and he can use cloak of shadows too).
But, yeah, trinketing first stun gives slightly better chances, at least I can live for several dozens of seconds playing hide n seek.
In other game I found sub rogue with half health and without stealth (he ran away and tried to restealth), we traded hits (I was in meta) and he murdered me easily anyway. Is it even possible to go near sub rogue without defensives or stunning him? And no, he didn’t use major cds there either, just his shadow dance or whatever it’s called.
Unless you have some sort of way to magically know that someone bought a boost on pvp or not, you should not make assumptions that everybody gets boosted for gold. Tons of people get carried or boosted for free by their friends or streamers in both pvp and pve. Boosting does happen, yes. But there is a demand for it, so it won’t stop anytime soon. And maybe that should be more of an alarm at the state of the game. If people would rather spend gold for boosts rather than do the content, that is an issue. And it may be related to the way things are designed. I do not know about pvp as I do not do more than occasional random bg’s . But I can definitely say that in pve it’s way better to get a boost for m + and raid bosses. Some people cannot join guilds for any reasons they have, and to be honest, pugging sucks. After my experiences trying to get a group together to kill the first boss in sanctum in hc , I reached the conclusion that it’s way easier to farm 400k to get 3 bosses in hc sanctum rather than do that again. May join my guild also to raid, but most of the bosses I need for loot at this point are kel’thuzad and sylvannas, whom are already way more hard to kill for most guilds. Anyway, for pvp, if you don’t like it, I think you should just go ahead and earn more experience in pvp so you can be at the same level as the boosters. Doubt they really one shot right at the start of the arena match anyway. Anyway, my conclusion here is the fact that it’s not boosting that killed wow, but the players killed it. And blizzard whom only caters to mythic raiders and makes the raids so hard and imposible to acces with regular pugs that the only way to reliably get loot is to get boosts and hope it drops. Guilds are not that reliable unless you are really lucky to fiind one whom is capable to kill the bosses and strong enough not to fall apart due to drama (:
Hm, well here my experience was different. After being rejected from every heroic raid group I just made my own, got some people and we did first 3 bosses, with 1-2 wipes on every one, wasn’t particularly hard. It gets harder on next bosses probably, I stopped there since I only needed specific item and I got it now.
Took about 2 hours in total. Farming 400k definetely isn’t easier, at least I don’t know of such fast methods to do it.
Gear will still make it unfair, even if skill will be equal. But I do think that gear differences diminish as cr goes higher, since it gets closer to booster gear and they can’t get better one.
Players just saw the green light (legalizations and promotion of boosting) and greed took over.
