If they pay by wow token, even more money for blizzard. It is naive to think they would actively go agianst that sort of profit.

Report them, if they’re botting. They do take action against those.
Theres usually not enough reports to trigger automatic ban. Bots sitting there for years.
If they want healthy game - they must hire actual people to combat bots

Afaik people are never automatically banned for botting.
Botting report → investigation → figure out how they bot → fix the vulnerability → ban wave

Except theres nothing to figure out and there no vulnerability to fix. You can just download whatever software you need for free.
And other steps are automated. If you get banned - you can get to actual human support only on 2-3 appeal.

How do you know they are botting? You can run 20 accounts legitimately with software that Blizzard allows. If the group is on a scripted path then this is most likely a bot, but just multiple characters herbing and mining is not always the case. So long as they are not mirroring key presses, then it is absolutely within the TOC.

Tell us you’ve got no clue how this works without telling us you’ve got no clue how this works. You realize this is an arms race right and Blizzard needs to be able to prove it if necessary as well right?
Sure, lets “just download” the program and bann one person that got detected. Or a few more who cares. Now you damaged a couple few and the people behind the botting program as a result know their program got detected through the means that Blizzard is legally allowed to use, and guess how quick thats gonna get fixed.
Blizz banned all 3rd party softwer that support multiboxing. You can legit play 20 accounts, if your brain can take the alt-tab spam.

They banned mirrored key usage. You can use software to set up screens and auto switch characters for you.
I have reported a few that were definitely using scripts. I have also reported players who were most likely playing legitimately. But being more educated about the way the software works, I don’t do this anymore.
They could kill botting by just putting 20x the spawns for all collection nodes in the world.
Won’t help the OP make gold from gathering but crafters would have almost free materials. Might make crafting professions a bit better.

I have over 20+ mails from Blizzard like “Thanks for reporting”, i mostly bumped into bots in olds zones at the end of Dragonflight, because i don’t have latest expansions i most of the time wondering about in old zones, eventually bumping into group of druids farming hyper-spawns. But since TWW launch, i didn’t seen any of them, now i understand why, they are all in new expansion.
As i may notice, the time between my reports and “Thanks for report” mail is ~2 weeks, which i guess enough to farm and recoup. Most of the stupids one, i even catch on “Preparing” phase in Stormwind, when botter gathering bots in one spot for further depart, for this ones i usually get “Thanks” mail in a week.
Reporting is kinda effective, but its still requires player’s effort to report, ~5 clicks, message explanation and if bots moving, you also need to put effort into catch and report them all - which is for most of the players seen as waste of time.
IF there was reward in this “Thanks for report” message, surely players will report bots more enthusiastically, but its also leads to abusing this reward system just to get rewards.
To be fair, blizz seems to not care about bots again… I was thinking about botting as well…

For example my connected server Genjuros-Darkssorow-Neptulon has more bots than actual players.
Just in Isle of Dorn i can easily name 30+ druids playing 24-24 7/7 since Legion .
We have a guild of guardians Druids with 54 active bots. (they could fix their intelligence since all of them hit the npc with Melee=dying ).
An irl person that i know is using at least 3 bots and when we were talking about wow he even call me idiot and that i’m stupid because i don’t use bots .
He and his wife are using bots since Cata **
I believe that this ban wave is a total bs .
Other Mmorpgs and specific those free are way better in maintaining the servers from bots than WoW.
2=3 months the prices of materials gonna drop like df where doing 3-4 quests are better than farming 1 hour .
