Breaking News in Classic client

I wonder why the “Breaking News” section in the Classic client displays US breaking news for us Europeans. The breaking news section is often information about system maintenance, either weekly or if something special is happening. I started to notice that they list all times as PDT instead of CEST and referring to @BlizzardCS (American support) on Twitter.

In BFA the section is working as intended, times are displayed in CEST and referring to @BlizzardCSEU_EN on Twitter for more information.

While I’m sure Blizzard has enough on their hands already with the server populations and all, this would for sure be nice if it gets fixed. I’ve delibrately not queued up on Golemagg once because I thought the server was going to go offline anyway (converted the PDT over to CEST) - which ended in me having to stand in a way longer queue than necessary.

After all the “Breaking News” section is the most efficent way and by far more efficent than the forums to notify players about upcoming events.

I have this for my breaking news

Or did I misunderstand and you meant in game screen?

Edit actually it’s same

I see that I forgot to mention that I’m specifically talking about the breaking news which are showing in-game in the Classic client, not in the battle.net app.

But out of curiosity since I can’t see any breaking news in my battle.net app. Is your screenshot in regards to Classic or BFA?

Sorry I edited my post before your reply appeared to show what is on my character selection screen in Classic.

Yeah we were both writing pretty fast there.

Yeah that’s the one I’m talking about. In my Classic client it shows breaking news from the US, despite logging in on an EU account. In BFA the breaking news is European as it should. I thought it was something Blizzard had overseen during the hectic launch period or something, but not everyone is seeing the same thing as me then!
