Bring back borrowed power

Bfa didnt just have one or 2 borrowed power and for some reason while skimming this topic, SLs borrowed power is not mentioned.

Is 3 expansions the threshold when something that was widely seen as a negative at the time to just flip over to “actually, i liked it and it was good!”

During Midnight, SL will be a good expansion i guess

I don’t miss borrowed power and I certainly don’t want it back. I like not having WoW be a job as I already have a busy one of those. I just want the game not to be frustrating and rewarding…I’d be perfectly happy with that.

I don’t think anyone is going to forget the ripcord debacle any time soon, but I think there are multiple conversations going on.

AP grind was an aspect of some borrowed power. But not all borrowed power involves endless grind per se.

The only difference between the two really was one had cosmetics attached and the other did not. The HoA had certain abilities you had to go get to enhance it and this is the part most players did not enjoy especially when the one was locked behind PvP.

AP…artifact, azerite, anima…?

So you want WoW to turn into a second job again?

I swear this community can’t make up their mind about anything. Can’t blame Blizzard for ignoring us.

There was so much crying when we had all the different borrowed power items and systems. We fought so hard to get rid of these grinds and now, out of nowhere, people remember how much they loved them.

I personally hate them.

The biggest problem I had with bfa was getting a gear upgrade that wasn’t, because I couldn’t afford to unlock the abilities on the new item, or they were just flat out worse

Doubt it.

Are you suggesting Blizzard have a naming theme when it comes to the grind

Disclaimer - this is a joke for those who take everything at face value

Haha, also suggesting the only reason they ended AP is that they ran out of A’s  Perhaps antimatter power? Bit too sci-fi? Aardvark power? Too silly?

Nah, I was half expecting to grind Aspect Power in DF. Also I just call all of them A** power.

You convinced me, I want BP back if we are going to be grinding Armadillo Power.

There are tons of borrowed powers, trinket effects, tier effect, flask , potions, hero talents.

Ooooh, that’s a good one…don’t tell Blizzard, you might give them ideas…oh wait :o

Yhea the AP grind was one aspect of it. Another was abilities that would only remain for that ONE expansion, or worse (imo) turn into set item bonuses (and or azerite gear) several times only to turn into talents when the trees returned.

They became recycled talents for several expansions.

Something i thought about WoD but here we are. And ive seen more and more show fondness of BFA. Give it enough time and them rose colored glasses merges on ppls faces.

Hands up who finds it fun to press a button that triggers a hero talent :),
Pressing a button that triggered corruption was fun every single time.

can i borrow Mod powers for a second?

I think you’re painting the devil on the wall here.
Saying that there’s a constant flow of character progression during the leveling journey doesn’t need to mean that the exact same is served up at max level and that you have to “relearn” the classes you’re playing.
That’s a very narrow-minded and negative view on what character progression can entail.

I mean, a pivotal point of character progression during leveling is getting the ability to ride a mount, an epic speed mount, and ultimately being able to fly.
But none of those require you to relearn how to play your character. They just progress your character’s ability to move faster and traverse the sky.

Pokemon has historically used this form of character progression a lot. You get a bike, your pokemon learns surf, the ability to break rocks and access new areas, and light dark caves, and so on.

There are many forms of character progression within the roleplaying space. And certainly for a game like WoW, which has such a vast world and such an intricate gameplay design, it’s absurd to have almost nothing.

The funny part is if enough people ask for it, Blizzard will be more than happy to accommodate. It’s a lot easier to implement a grind to keep players busy than actually create new, elaborate and fun content.

People are just asking for a crappy game honestly.
