Bring Back Mage Tower Appearances in Remix?

Hello fellow adventurers and Blizzard team,

With the arrival of Legion Remix, many of us dove in excited to relive one of WoW’s most iconic expansions. The rewards, the accelerated leveling, the transmog sets—amazing.

But there’s one absence that struck a nerve for many in the community: Mage Tower.

While limited-time exclusives have their place, we’ve seen many “never returning” shop items reintroduced (e.g., Grinning Reaver, Celestial Steed). Even the Blight of the Grizzlemaw bear form, once tied to Mage Tower, was brought back.

So why not Mage Tower appearances—at least in a recolor or altered form?

:small_blue_diamond: Polls and sentiment across community platforms (Reddit, YouTube, WoWhead comments) show that a large portion—easily over 65%—would welcome a return of Mage Tower visuals, perhaps unlocked with Remix currency or as limited-time Remix versions.

:small_blue_diamond: This would be a major boost for player engagement during Remix and offer new players a fair shot at iconic looks.

Personally, I lost access to an account with full Mage Tower appearances. Even if I cannot get those exact versions, I’d love to earn something spiritually similar again.

Suggestion: Why not introduce “Remixed Mage Tower Appearances”? Slightly modified visuals, same challenge, new window to earn them—without breaking exclusivity promises.

Thoughts?

Nah, its exclusive. Just get it on classic when legion comes out.

And then? You have it on a useless character for a useless version of the game that’ll be obsolete when the next thing is released?

People want these appearances in the real WoW.
And a recolour even leaves the originals alone, so there is literally zero reason not to do that.

I totally respect that some people value exclusivity, but times have changed. WoW is about accessibility and player expression now.

Mage Tower appearances are not a skill issue anymore — they’re a cosmetic limitation that punishes new players and returning veterans.

If Blizz brought back the Mage Tower as a time-limited Remix challenge, it would still honor the effort required while giving others a fair shot.

You got yours in 2017 — let us fight our own war in 2024.

For all we know, there will be recolours to buy. Legion class gear is just a recolour of MoP challenge gear, after all.

Agreed if it is not an elite tmog mythic+3k or mythic raiding tmog it should be all fair game for everyone who takes part.

Blizz should just make them “time exclusive” like they’ve done loads of times with old stuff…

This selective nonsense for Legion is beyond ridiculous amidst all the many things they brought back [TCG stuff, Tyrael’s Charger, etc].

Pretty much an overwhelmingly large portion of the playerbase possessing them weren’t either. They were trivial in antorus patch iLvl gear, even even more so in said raid/m+ gears, lol.

However some like to act superior. :dracthyr_shrug:

I never understood and will never understand why everything else YES and this is NOT possible. I also don’t get why people are so attached to them, to the point they will actively go out their way just to prevent others from getting it, it feels crazy. Maybe in 10 years.

I do find it a crime for Druids though.

The tanking and healing challenges were anything but trivial. Those are the only ones I was missing.

Creating “Remix”-specific versions only enhances this issue. Then new players and returning veterans miss the original versions ánd the remixed versions.

You only dig the hole deeper, without realizing it.

I don’t. Because I don’t like those things.
See, it’s not about ‘it not being there’. It’s about ‘it’s cool and I want to use it on my character’.

But would you like them to be brought back for others?

To me it’s ‘whatever’.
If others want it, sure, why not.
I have no issue with it. I don’t care.

If it was put on the TP, I wouldn’t buy it, honestly.
