Came back to this game from TBC to find that they removed baseline sockets and made it RNG. Why cant we just have the option to gem
Our gear as we like so we don’t have to complain about getting the wrong secondaries all the time.
‘‘It was too difficult for new players that cant handle brain usage’’
Sad but true.
You can buy sockets with Mementos.
Prismatic socket is not the same as old colored sockets
The reason Ion gave - and I’m not making this up! - was that it delayed raids, when people got a drop they didn’t want to use immediately without gems and enchants, and had to teleport out and be resummoned.
That’s why most slots are no longer enchantable either.
This showed me clearly where this team’s priorities were.
at least now you can buy sockets in 8.3. could have been worse. like how it was.
Sounds like a ‘‘their problem’’, not an actual player problem.
Yep. This design mentality is what ruined this game.
And that was true, getting a piece of gear back in MoP was unusable until after the raid where you had to gem, enchant, reforge and upgrade it.
In a way that could be seen as a problem, but there were many factors involved, instead of tuning it down with the gear modifiers blizz removed everything. Sure it solved the problem but at what cost.
Sounds good to me. Might take some time to happen (if at all), and would probably just be a broadening of prismatic availability, but that’s better than nothing right?
Yeah, it solved what was an intermittent problem for - what? - 10% of the population, the 10% they listen to, at the expense of destroying professions and impoverishing a facet of gameplay for the whole population.
Colored sockets were irrelevant because everyone and their dog would spam strength/agi/intel gems anyway.
Even back in LK you’d see wars with only arpen gems in every slot, much optimization, very wow
In MoP most used the MainStat/Crit, MainStat/Mas, MainStat/Hast gems.
I miss the days of professions giving perks, such as Blacksmiths having extra sockets, JC getting JC only Gems, Leatherwork giving +stats on bracer, etc.
Now professions are just not needed at all for combat.
Alchemy is still standing and more or less Engineering, the Azerite craftable head is not THAT bad and free port - tho random - is fun but…
Yeah
But people complained that they were ‘‘forced’’ to use certain professions!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!11111oneoneonee!1111
As they should be.
You mean that they should be.
Having a bonus from your profession was a good thing. There’s no real reason as to why one should get a profession anymore.
And now they’re all useless beyond initial gearing, if used at all. Thankfully this is remedied in SL.
