Back in the day, when one was doing a quest and killing whatever. Once you hit that target it was yours as the NPC name would be shaded. Now it is such a bun fight. Avi’s coming in when min health remaining yet get the reward when you were the one doing all the graft. I think bring back to how it used to be to make it the challenge that WOW used to be.
Great now world quests take two hours. That’ll be fun. /s
It would bring back snipe aggro, something that was a big problems for quests at the time.
Ah… in the good old days… when the grass was greener and the girls prettier…
Eh, I don’t mind, it’s not taking anything away from me.
I really don’t miss the days where a dozen players wait for a spawn. No thanks
No thank you.
Now they have wire beards and stone bodies that shatter if you so much as poke em. And memory problems. I mean whose bright idea was it to place memories in gems? What’s up with that?
Wonder if theres a reason for all those questing changes… Could it be player feedback over the years
Ah yes, the challenge of being able to tag the mob first. Such glory days.
It’s one of the better things Retail does over Classic. Multi tagging targets so you’re not stood around for an excessive amount of time doing a quest.
No way would I want to go back to that antiquated system. Belongs in the past.
There are tons of good things about classic but non-shared npc’s and nodes ain’t one.
I don’t know why 99% of classic player want to remove features that are healthy for the game and usually are like „that makes it a true mmorpg“
Ah yes , instead of sharing things in the open world , playing solo is the true mmorpg spirit.
I miss Vanilla.
WoW wasn’t challenging in the open world in the “old days” because of how tagging used to work. It was challening because things hit you VERY hard.
Unless you were a frost mage, a warlock, or a hunter
Why does this bother you so much? It’s not taking anything away from you. Sometimes I tag a mob just before it dies but that’s because I arrived too late to do anything else.
As weird as this mechanic may seem, it strongly encouraged grouping up, which often led to chatting in my experience.
I dont miss the hours spent to kill one mob cuz respawn time was crazy. I do miss the old times because of what guilds have to put up with now. The player base is like a locust swarm, shows up, consumes, disappears. Jumps on the new season hype and stops logging after 2 days, or Curve, or a m+ wipe. Zero loyalty, stability or interest to build a community for a greater goal. Might seem like boomer ranting, but most guilds struggle with this every expansion. That being said, we’re recruiting! xD

Funny how those Rose-tinted glasses make grass greener…
Or am I mixing my metaphors again?
it depends if you are colorblind.
I’m trying to finish off the Going to Need a Bigger Bag achievement. I need one final pet from a Monstrous Spineclaw. To spawn these you need to slaughter hundreds of Ancient Spineclaws.
Yesterday a Monstrous one spawned and it was Yellow (not attackable) and I ran over to it. I was spamming my attack button but once it turned red someone else managed to kill it first (is thare a way to tag a yellow target?). I didn’t even know someone else was there
Fighting over spawns (especially rare ones) is not fun gameplay. Having them be there for a while so everyone can get a tag is how is should be.
