C’mon guys is really that hard to swallow gamer pride and admit that advocating for TF removal was mistake ?
If i can anyone can ! And trust me i can be really suborn sometimes.
That being said,i think that beast should be kept on the leash !
Basically :
TF capped at +10ilv low chance to occur
WF capped at +5ilvl high-ish chance to occur
With such system in place difficulty to reward ratio is preserved since you can not get HC item in normal raid etc ,and at the same time we get back that sweet : oh it TF -ed feel

Titan forging was a great concept, it was just lacking the ability to upgrade gear if you didn’t TF.
Ideally they should have let us upgrade gear to the current ilvl cap where TF was just a free bonus. Would make it so that most content and difficulties can stay relevant.

So basically old warforged. Which was widely deemed acceptable even in the anti TF threads.

I would be fine with titanforging if they also allowed you to increase the lvl of your gear up till the max lvl of titanforging through a currency.
10 seems a bit low though, id say 15 or 20 max is fine.

Capped titanforge at +6 ilvl like in MoP/WoD? Fine.
Uncapped like in Legion/bfa? Hell no.

The problem with legion titanforging was mostly that you could not upgrade your gear in case you didn;t get a titanforging, more than the uncapped thing.

Yes, and then give us back upgrade vendor and win.

The problem was never some LFR gear becoming a god-item equivalent to Mythic raiding, as its chance was so low. There’s a reason a huge hoo-ha surrounded that screenshot of … I think it was a Draught of Souls? … TFing from LFR to above-Mythic NH quality, because it was simply so rare. Nobody was gearing up solely using these massive TFs.
The problem was that the +5/+10 were frequent, so it was never a “bonus” to get, but just felt terrible when it didn’t happen. Didn’t get extra TFs on your weekly cache? Well that item is going into the bin. No TF from your raid boss kill? To the bin. It’s existence completely stripped so many items from relevancy and the game became a slot machine.
WF/TF need to permanently stay removed, it was truly one of the most aggressively harmful things that was added to the game.

Except for the fact that it made all difficulties useful, compared to BFA where some were dead on release.

It’s still in shadowlands. Sockets are the new titanforging.

But I am putting names of people who are in favor of bringing back tf in my trusty notepad.

Agree TF/WF was a good thing, but they gone to far with huge proc cap. +10 or +15 would be ok.

Wait ,aren’t those sold by vendor in maw ?
Yes, but can randomly proc too.
i had no idea tbh. I thought only those bonus stats like leech etc have chance to proc.

While we eliminated Warforging and Titanforging in Shadowlands , with the goal of increasing clarity and player agency over rewards, the question of how to handle sockets was not quite as clear-cut. A certain critical mass of sockets across all player gear is essential to support Jewelcrafting as a player profession, and in recent expansions the chance for any endgame item to upgrade to a socketed version gave players of all playstyles the opportunity to interact with the Jewelcrafting tradeskill. At the same time, sockets unquestionably constitute power, and can be every bit as impactful as Warforging.
Trying to balance these considerations, the approach we’ve settled on for Shadowlands is to keep sockets as a random item property, but to allow players to add sockets to their items via a consumable sold by Ve’nari in the Maw (similar to Gouged Eyes in the recent Visions of N’Zoth update).
