Bring back Titanforging

Titanforging is absolutely terrible and created a bunch of issues for those who liked to raid. For example people(myself included) felt the need to always do normal raids while trying to gear up in heroic. Why? For a chance that you will get a titanforge and get something that ended up being better than the heroic gear you are aiming for. This was an issue because its hugely time consuming and burns you out from the raid faster.
It was difficult to aim for a specific piece you want because a few days later a lucky proc on a piece of gear would surpass the piece you were aiming to get.
Another problem is the mythic plus gear would always surpass the raid gear if it gets a random forge on it. It made it so any goal or sense of progression was out of whack and made you grind out endless gear from multiple sources.

Gear should have a controlled progression and not random. If you gained a piece and wanted it to be higher ilvl then a upgrade system would be great. But it should never surpass the next step/difficulty of the end game content. It also should be that to be able to upgrade the piece you should gain a type of currency to spend to upgrade the I lvl by 5 to 10 from the same content you got that piece from. Say you got a piece from mythic +, you would have do more mythic dungs to gain a currency to upgrade it and then raid gear should be a different currency.

The only ‘forging’ i want back is the stat Reforge we had in the past tbh.

Feel old yet.?

I was okay with it since I hate PvE and raids but… what is done is done. I don’t think it will ever come back from this point on.

no titanforging
no warforging
no random sockets
no random stats (avoidance/speed)

after the level/number squish in particular.

Titanforging CAN be fine.

But it’s blizzard we’re talking about. Somehow, someway, they’ll shoot themselves and us in the foot with it.

So i’d rather have no titanforging than any titanforging they design.

No; it just leads to ilvl inflation making things really bad for everyone with the RNG and the requirements.

I miss reforging every day

It wasn’t. Thank god its gone.

  • Make it capped, like 10 or 15 item levels above original
  • Make it possible to upgrade

Then it’s OK.

or… dont add it at all and just let people upgrade their items at the end of patch so slackers can achieve their goals - like they did during HFC in wod

Best “mistake” they ever made
In the first tier of BFA I got a 385 (IIRC mythic raid level) ring from a world quest
I didn’t feel like I won anything or earned anything
Titan forging drained nearly all interest I had in gearing, then corruption shattered what was left of it
I want to be able to enjoy the reward structure of the game again, I outright didn’t enjoy the RNG BS fest
0 RNG additive bonuses on gear post drop, an upgrade system with currency is fine, but this RNG stuff had to end and it’s good that it did

Titanforging was great cause it made sure you weren’t too far behind mythic raiders while at the same time it felt disgusting when people who didn’t deserve it got something super scaled up.

I think if it was capped at most to 10 item levels it can’t be much harm, but make sure mythic gear cant titanforge at mythic raid/ 15 weekly chest ilvl basically.

TF was awful imo, totally devalued almost all of the loot in the game.

Valor point system was better. Get VP > Spend it on gear to increase iLvl > Profit. Too much RNG in gear drops is bad, we don’t need multi-layered randomness in gearing.

Removal of titanforging was one of the best things. Loot can go back to being rewarding.

I was a huge “advocate” for removing TF.
I think it was a horrible system and I am beyond glad to see its removal.

“pride”, “elitism” etc are bad and invalid arguments for TF. Not wanting someone to get undeservered gear is perfectly valid.

If your best argument is to attack the opposing point of view then you’ll never win anybody over.

But, I think removing it mid expansion was bad. And I’d take TF over corruption any day. The systems such as WQ’s were designed around TF loot. Without TF world quests became pretty awful.

My biggest concern with the world quest system is incentive. Legion Legendary items and Titanforging, as bad as they were, did encourage doing your daily quests. BFA did not do that for me.

I absolute hated uncapped Titanforging. If it was capped to +5/+10 ilvl I would be fine with that, but having a Normal item having the chance of being like a Mythic item was just ridiculous… Guilds farmed all difficulties, causing burn outs.

they should listen to player base now only to elitists few who were jealous that others can get high gear like they do. Many casuals quit when titanforging was removed

No, they did not.
