I stopped playing just before tbc released and when i come back to play era the game I love they say i cant play cuz my characters have been moved over to tbc.
The clone icon has been grayed out i made a ticket but they cant help me, been told to go to the forums hope blizz see it.
Chill, itâs nobodyâs fault. Some people â myself included â just didnât care for TBC and decided to take a break for a while, and thereâs nothing wrong with that. It was a shock to me, too, that my alts are now locked out of Era. Seems fundamentally arbitrary on Blizzardâs part.
I am not sure they can for Wrath (but I havenât seen anybody asking for this, so who cares?), but am pretty sure it should be possible for Era, as clones are still visible there. They closed the cloning service right before the ârealm consolidationâ. There was propably a reason for that. They created major chaos and maybe anticipated some of it.
That being said, I do hope they bring cloning back for people who missed it, even though I donât intend to buy one personally.
Yes, I know. But making clones on deleted realms might be a technical problem, who knows? They didnât even manage to dorcefully transfer existing characters correctly.^^
Well i didât know . I had a break just as TBC hit and didât chose the character for TBC back then. Some others i did.
I did buy the TBC pack.
But job etc RL forced me to take a long break.
Is that a crime by Blizzard ? I still return if i got options.
Thatâs what I meant. I am pretty sure it should work in that direction. I am just not sure it would still work for characters you activated in Era and want to clone to Wrath now.
I had a bunch of vanilla toons which I (stupidly) activated in TBC when it dropped but then never played; now that WotLK (which I hated) is on the horizon I figured Iâd go back to those toons in Vanilla, pay to activate the clones and start playing again. Sadly the clone icon is greyed out, the shop is âtemporarilyâ unavailable and Blizz have apparently removed the facility permanently. FFS
Well i didât activate some of my charaters for TBC so why did they get moved to TBC any way ?
I deaply regret buying TBC âŠagain and now it is Wotlk ! Which i will never ever play ! Tyvm Blizzard . All characters will just be there for nothing =(
Well my last purchase for any product if this will not be sorted.
Because like 99% of the people that played Classic went on for TBC. Blizz later gave you the choice if you want to play Classic, TBC or both and when you decided for nothing in Blizz eyes it whas that you have generally lost interest on WoW Classic.
And so when with their glorious idea of server closure they had to make a choice they decided WotLK would be sure in nearly all cases the right decicion so they activated for TBC.
They even put on a news on their homepage and so they decided for all those interested in Classic they would have already chosen for it and all those that did not choose would be better with WotLK for when they will return.
Or long story short:
In Blizzards eyes your interest in Classic with those characters that got on neither version activated whas not big enough so you will be surely more interested in the new and interesting WotLK.
Well i did when TBC started⊠If any remember there was an option to chose. But they overruled that decition Wile i was away.
Well i do not follow that page at all⊠I was away for the time being and i got no mail about this step.
Heh as that may be i am not that happy about it if you unterstand ^^
But basicly they can do anything they want to in their terms of use âŠThis does not make it right though imho.
They also state when you cancel your subscribtion that when you return to the game things will be as you left the gameâŠthis statement does not hold any more now.. So i think they should change that statement =P
I sure just hobe that the option to clone comes back asap ! And if it payed service they apply then fine by me =/ I just want my character back to classic vanila(ERA)
And there I am actually totally with you. The whole Serverclosure itself, what drove them to this decicion, whas a black swann.
Which is why I am still this day to the opinion they should have emailed the whole process as a newsletter anouncement together with a news on the Battle.net Launcher too. Nobody would have expected, they go really this far. And they seemed not ready for it either with that there are still characters missing from the merge.
