The initial post mentioned, quote:
“This allows players to purchase items that were previously unable to obtain or difficult to obtain as random drops”
Tons of people was immediately hyped for the idea that it may mean that finally we get a respectful return of the highly coveted Challenge Mode sets or their recolors - myself included.
However, the next day a blue post confirmes that CM sets are not coming back. The instant outrage and disappointment on forums and wowhead still resonates. I was also extremely disappointed reading these news, and now many players are extremely discouraged to play this event.
I also think that the OG CM sets should not come back, but recolors should. There are unreleased recolor versions of the sets in the game in the game files, ready to be fired up. For a long time now it was a discussion to bring back CM or recolors. This event would be fitting for it, and originally it did sound like to house that as well. Don’t undermine this. Let’s get rid of these discussions once and for all.
Enough of all these FOMO, past and future.

Recolors are there with “lesser shoulders” and depending on the class its a great looking set even with other shoulders.
Legion class hall will help you out.
This event coming up will be a fomo event, with cosmetics to earn that are only in the “Remix” game mode.
Which will be unobtainable when Remix ends.
So “fomo rewards” coming out in a event made to regrant “fomo rewards”
Not really a good solution.
And finally this whole Remix event and Plunderstorm shouldnt even been a thing.
The whole expansion has been lame on M+ dungeons with re-using stuff from Pandaria and later.
M+ mount rewards which arent really unique
Weird story telling and unresolved stories still
Gameplay systems not working properly
Ingame events bugging out
Open world content with exact the same “model” fill the bar and earn x.
And for the next expansion a new skin on the dwarven model…
So much stuff to fix and then they spend so much resources on time limited events that bring a few cosmetics.

I know some believe it, and I thought I should add to not bring this in, but hoped it will be needless. Well, here we go then I guess:
Legion class order hall sets are REMODELS & RECOLORS. No one asked for a simplified remodel back then. Recolor means same model but different color. This is what people ask for.

Fomo rewards drive whales to play the game even more but i’m all for adding those Phoenix mounts back and CM tmog sets it has been one of the most requested things but it seems they are not coming

Whales are usually people who spend large amounts of money. I’m not sure how that relates to these extra events they are experimenting with.
As far as I’m aware there is no ‘take my money and give me everything’ mode. You have to play.
Yes you are right but you know what i meant. There is a reason why Fortnite stayed so popular for so long because many don’t want to miss out on time limited stuff.

Yeah but there also needs to be a balance it’s really getting a bit overwhelming now. Time limited Raids, Mythic+, Pvp, Plunderstorm, Store items and Pandaria remix items.
Why recolour? Just bring both. Those who have the original will farm the recolour. The rest can farm both.

I don’t understand why they aren’t bringing them back as recolour. They did that with Harem bear what’s stopping them from CM sets?

Each CM already has two full complete recolors in the game files with no ability to get them.
So just put those in if putting the original color back is too much for whatever reason.
I just don’t understand why they won’t put them back in.
It’s like removing the mythic tier from the loot table after each xpack is over, it just makes no sense.
Besides, people who got them back in the day has had them for over 10 years at this point
and they still have a unique feat of strength achievement as well as proof.
They did it back in the day, and I’m sure the majority of the ones holding the original sets. Will be fine with it coming back in some form recolors or the same version, it’s been long enough.
Also, I might as well add the achievements that reward a class “set” gives recolors of the trading post class “sets” reason I say “set”
is because it’s a helm shoulder and belt which matches with no other items 3 bits of gear does NOT make a set
It be nice if we can colour our own armor,something similar like in dceu online 10y ago.
Prestige is prestige, say no to anything, recolours included.
Prestige my butt at the end of MoP you could buy full AFK boosts for them because it was that easy.
Besides, original owners still have the feat of strength to prove they got it back then.
Just let people have them, I have something’s not available anymore.
And I could not give any less of a toss if they became available to everyone now years later

the PRESTIGE you say ,dont make me laugh. your so called prestige comes from the fact that new players cant aquire such sets.

there needs to be a way to obtain challenge mode rewards also, i got friends now that were playing in mop and wod challenge mode system and they said that it wasn’t very difficult to get silver or even gold.
also aotc mount, don’t forget about it, it was also dataminded and it had a currency atached to it so, maybe, hopefully ,
also, regarding so called prestige, don’t forget but before mythic raid was introduced in the .7 (last extra "mini"patch before wod ) the aotc mount was earned in normal raid not only on hc, and i am pretty sure that you could buy that at that moment like you can buy you aotc now for as low as 50k .
i don’t have them because i didn’t play back then.
also naxx sets and jellycat, some tcg rewards are back, i don’t see any problem with this phylosophy going forward as long as they are put behind content.
hell, i post and do suggestions ingame, i would completely agree with adding glad mounts as a vendor purchase if you introduce a saddle like system, but with higher rating, but this is not the moment or the request.

I’d be all down for the o.g sets to return, but that argument I can understand that
a) back then, it was announced as time-limited and is to be removed, and
b) people who did it back then could bust it now and people would immediately recognise them as someone playing then and overcoming (either via skill or gold) the challenges (a.k.a prestige items).
I don’t want their acomplishments being undermined, and blizz to walk back on their words.
But (!) recolors cannot hurt either party in this argument, as then they are not at all the same sets, and is a fine ground for those as well who missed out on the original sets. Meeting the same/similar challenge (e.g in the current framework, let’s say every dungeon timed on +20 or above) could reward recolors of these class sets. This panda remix is the perfect opportunity to introduce this.
Even more so, they could use these sets as foundation for future dungeon rewards: every expension would have one specific recolor that dungeon enjoyers can work towards (as e.g now still +20 are not granting any permanent rewards apart from 8h cd dungeon portals… so nothing basically).
Why not this? Why would anyone refuse to do this? I don’t understand. Blizz could do this but instead they give nothing as permanent reward… ???
