Bring the covenant not the player

I much prefer “bring the rio number” myself.

But from what I understood, the buff only works in that specific dungeon, so other covenants are better in others again.

Considering this buff is essentially Bloodlust that lasts for minutes, I can already see many, many ways how it WILL go wrong. Among them is the nerf chainsaw. These effects just cannot be balanced with each other, because they’re different, in one dungeon it might be better to have AoE stun and flat DPS buff in another. So they will either continuously reshuffle, buff/nerf the f out of each buff, or give up and cause “LF for X dungeon, must be Y covenant cuz we got everyone else”.

It looks like for Blizz it is not enough that people go for meta ez mode specs, like BM, Havoc. Or the general Horde PvE meta. They have to push YET ANOTHER dumb restriction on what you can or cannot do.
Makes me wish for Wrath: 4 factions working for the same goal, none of them gives you something you cannot get from some other source except for like 0.5% DPS gain (PvE head enchants), you can work with them all and nobody has a problem with that. Apparently Shadowlands factions are dumb af AND jealous AND short-sighted: If they NEED us players to clean up THEIR mess, then WE PLAYERS should be dictating terms on what we can do, not them, and if they don’t like the deal, they can fix up their own realms. Which they have proven they cannot. So, uh, why do I have to work with those mentally disabled beings again?

Not even discussing how idiotic it is to get that big, WRONG “meaningful choice of being locked out of content when it’s your covenant’s turn to be nerfed” idea, and behave like there can be nothing wrong with it, when 5-years-old kids can plainly see there is a LOT wrong with it. Just saying this is going to end up exactly like Azerite: 1 year pushing it, 1 year trying in vain to fix it, then giving up and pushing the Newest and Most Improved 1-Expac Crap on a Stick for 10.0.

They are going to release the covenants live as they are, then they’re going to see the chaos they created and patch it later on.

Why not Both? This is awesome, knowing thatr in a few dung you get a slight advantage, a slight boost, its not like you need 5 Kyrians to complete the dungeon,

Leave it the way it is, its fun especially for RP purposes, and this is an mmoRPg

Needing to run 10 M+ per week on all your characters is way worse than any of this covenant stuff. I’d rather have to deal with covenant elitism to do one dungeon than have to deal with normal elitism cranked to 11 to do 10 dungeons.

NGL…

I’m a Shadow priest, one of the More disliked Speccs in M+ enviroments, and i ran far more then 10 M+s last week and really didnt suffer any elitism… had plenty of Failed runs sure… but didnt have a problem with anything else really.

if their world fails… Jailer kills Azeroth.

so you stand at as much loss as they do if they lose. so ur kinda there to u know protect ur planet.

Mage. Teleport: Shattrath. It’s do or die for them, not me. It’s their world on the line first. They should be working their butts off. They should be jumping hoops for me to gracefully accept their aid. And if said endeavour is so bloody important, then why can’t they say “screw this rivalry, it doesn’t help us solve this problem, from here on anyone dissenting will be summarily executed & their soul/anima/whatever used to something better”?

I recommend reading “Finding Plot Holes for Dummies”

Might be a question of individual idiocy/boredom tolerance. As I’m allergic to dumb & not wishing to be carried, likely will not bother unless my spec is fixed to be viable.

Noone likes traitors though, so if you leave them for that other covenant in the red dress, they be mad

They’re not even hostile towards each other tho. They actively help one another on a regular basis. This whole traitor thing makes no sense in the story. It’s like expecting to have your citizenship revoked if you use a product made in a country other than your own.

But you pledge and vow to use this one product.

Anyhow I would still look on it like dating, you can switch partners if you are that kind of person, but can’t go twice into the same river

Some of our guildies have posted a screen of some crazy M+ requirements, from the PTR.
Yeah I believe too that it will become a problem, if it not all ready is :flushed:

It’s beta, most of them are CE players so it’s ok

Well don’t tell me this aint going to happen in retail as well. With the buffs, there WILL be a meta, and there will be requirements as this. Maybe changing based upon the affixes of the week, but still… It will bring issues and toxicity - mark me.

I wouldn’t be surpriced if they went on with it, and after a month or two disable it again because people rage about bias and meta etc.

I am confident it will happen first week, the same CE boiz will pug plus 10 and demand big rio and it’s ok.

Oh this bonus is kinda too much rp where it shouldn’t be, but I can’t force myself to care now. I am sure if will need to push m plus I will find a way

This covenant system is just another thing that will promote toxicity and elitism.

Blizzard’s obsession with making us all different will have the opposite effect. Everyone will take the covenant that gives them more chances to progress in raids/m+ or PvP.

It’s not different than talents in that matter. Yes, not all of us will end up the 1% elite but let’s be honest, we all want to stay relevant and competitive.

How you going to chosse meta covenant if covenant A will be bis in dungeon X and covenant B will be bis in dungeon Y? Or are you planning to ignore 3/4 of dungeon content where your covenant wont be bis?

You’re going to pick the best covenant for your class, as in the ability that is most beneficial to you overall.

A few problems arise from this:

  1. You won’t necessarily pick something you enjoy
  2. You will be desired in certain dungeons but also denied others.
  3. And what might be best for you in PVE might also not be best in PvP, putting you at disadvantage on either side.

That makes for a frustrating experience for everyone involved.

I really like that you keep repeating the same thing over and over like a broken record and then only reply to things that don’t completely destroy your arguments. Proves how clueless you really are.
