I know many love and adore Master Loot but I really dislike it. It may work well in other guilds where they are fair with distribution but I’ve rarely ever been in a guild that works fairly. Or you end up with points systems and those come with their own pros and cons.
Most guilds I’ve been in, it’s all about favouratism, favouring the officers, favouring the FOTM classes who do much more damage etc. I have had times when my only chance at upgrades has been through reroll tokens or when no one wanted a piece. It just sucks.
People have that excuse of oh well move. I’d never have got to raid, in my entire time raiding I think I’ve been in one maybe two guilds that did loot fairly. If ML comes back, it will just be the norm again. There will be no avoiding it.
I am really happy they consider returning partially ML. I really hate getting with PL a higher ilvl in M+ which is useless to me and i can’t trade it.
I enjoy both systems personal and master loot. I hope they can balance it.
Last time I joined a raiding guild when Master Loot was a thing, I wasn’t even allowed to roll on any loot for the first few weeks - and even after that, any of the truly desirable items went to the established raiders whom were IRL friends…
No thanks!!
It was fairly common practice for trials not to get the same rights on loot as existing raiders.
I totally agree with this ML is basiclly always abused by the leaders, even in guilds where people feel that the loot council did a pretty good job if you looked closer you could see that they also was guilty of favortism. ML caused alot of loot drama and that would just come back if they brought it back nothing has changed and the reason why they removed it in the first place is still true.
I think Personal is better in almost every way what I would like to see when it comes to personal though is a lift of restrictions from week three of new tiers so you can trade anything you loot no matter what the ilvl is.
For Mythic raiding that restriction should be lifted from day 1 makes no sense that in a lockout being unable to trade items you don’t need due to ilvl while its bis for someone else.
That change would basiclly fix the main reason to why some people want ML back the once that would still want it back after a change like this just wants it back for greedy reasons.
I would agree to bring master loot to mythic raiding only.
Everything else should be left like it is now - BECAUSE EVERYBODY HAVE EQUAL CHANCES TO GET LOOT AND EVERYBODY PARTISIPATED IN KILLING A BOSS.
They don’t need to bring back Master Loot, they just need to remove the ridiculous restrictions on Personal loot.
If I get a piece & want to trade it I should be able to, regardless of whether I have a lower item level in that slot or not.
Blizzard need to realise that sometimes higher item level is worse due to unfavourable stats.
Would be enough just to make Mythic items tradeable no matter what ilvl you have in that slot from start of mythic progress. The main reason people want ML back is for wasted Mythic items due to not being able to trade, if they could trade that issue would be fixed.
Without putting back a system that can be abused into the game.
The once that is dead set on ML being the only good thing those players is just greedy.
Cant wait to see the very talkative healer, charismatic , cute, dead on every pull, only girl in raid thats “best friend” with everybody to be decked out in bis gear first for “some” reason.
and then you will forced to trade that loot because gm or rl told you so. Would be even more pissed.
If you open up everything you have ML anyway btw, with the difference that you will get to keep one item before getting kicked out of the guild.
" hey pls trade that trinket to X , it is their BIS"
“No it is a 10 dps upgrade for me and it is MUHHH LOOOT”
Not quite there will be a difference sure they could do what you suggest but that could also turn the guild on them so I highly doubt that will be the case for most guilds. And sure if an item that is a really minor upgrade for me but a BIS item for someone else I for one is happy to trade them that.
But the power would still be with the players of the guild and not in the hands of a loot council. Techiniclly you could argue that once ilvl restrictions is meet they could demand that already today but most guilds let people decide if they wanna pass the item or not even if they can trade it.
I won’t be forced to trade it though, I will want to trade it because it’s not an upgrade for me, even though Blizzard think it is because it has higher item level.
As it stands if I get a higher item level I have to keep it, even if it’s an actual downgrade for me.
He has a point though, if there were no restrictions on trading loot, wouldn’t guilds start asking for all loot to be traded to the RL, who then distributes the loot?
I mean this can happen to ML as well honestly.
Again the upside that the loot start in your pocket is of course better than ML but if you wanna keep staying in a guild you need to play as a team member.
Lets not pretend only guild leaders are the only power hungry people.
I dont understand why this is a problem. Why would a guild give loot to a person who has yet to priove their worth and their commitment to a guild?
Just make it aviaylbe for Mythic Only and fix GDKP?
If this brings more guild drama, then at least we’ll get more entertainment thrown in our way XD
just leave the guild?
