Hey. Im just telling this story to put into perspective what the game has become.
I had a timer on Broken Tooth this morning in Badlands. I went and amazingly enough he had spawned. There was no other alliance in all of badlands at this time. Even did a /who.
I cleared the trash around him and started taming. With 5 seconds left on the tame another alliance lvl 37 hunter attacked Broken Tooth so the taming was interrupted.
I whispered the dude what in the world he was doing and that i was here first and thats just how it is.(you snooze you loose).
He whispered me that he only would let me tame it if i paid him 100g. I have other chars so 100g isnt exactly a problem but i got the feeling that this wasnt the first time he exstorted someone to get the pet.
And I was right. I spoke to other guildies who saw him in the area often. I guess thats what wow has become. A place where the game cannot be played without paying up. It was all documented with screenshots and he Will ofc get reported. Probably without any punishment.

sounds pretty low doing it on a fellow faction member, if he was a horde ganking you tho would be fun, no wonder alliancec lose alot of av games
the power move would be to kill broken tooth infront of him

Typical alliance, fighting eachother

This is a good thing,do not spoil it!
I was taming BT with my hunter (i did lvl up on a pvp server)
Then a lvl 60 gnome mage arrived, killed BT and then he killed me.
Alliance fighting eachother is a good thing, they deserve it!

The best move would have been to just kill this mob and make this guy sit there the entire spawntimer and then go there again and kill it again so he technically loses 200gold

that is the definition of griefing and the guy takes it a step further with the extortion aspect.
get him mass reported and he will likely get banned.

It’s not griefing but it is a scummy thing to do. He will only be banned if he is breaking the rules, which I’m not sure he is.
Before you say “it is obviously griefing” is killing a mob griefing?
yes its obviously griefing

You have proof or is that your opinion?
Edit: People have been doing this since before Wrath (remember Loque’nahak) and I’ve never seen anyone banned for it.
its obviously a fact as much as any fact about human interaction. you understand that, right?
pretty sure people have been punished for repeatedly sheeping fellow faction member’s mobs to troll them before, same goes for warlocks repeatedly banishing fellow faction member’s mobs… how is preventing taming and asking for a 100g bribe on top of it NOT griefing?
EDIT: what’s to stop the guy from getting his 100g and then continuing to grief it, saying “oh i just wanted money, gonna wait for another fool to come around so i can do it again, just give up” or better yet “give me another 100g and i promise i’ll let you tame it” and then rinse repeat.
The most shameful thing about it is that it was another hunter doing it. A hunter should well know the annoyance of someone killing their tame. I don’t care what faction someone is on, if they’re taming something I know to be an effort other hunters should help not hinder them. Sadly I don’t know if any sort of ethics exist any more in the game but in times gone by that behaviour would get someone kicked from their guild.

It’s not a fact just because you say it’s so.
If it happens you should report it and let Blizzard sort it out.
…which is exactly what i told him to do
ofc whether i say it or not doesnt much affect it
hey dont type here. pay the fee of 100gold else your text will get deleted
yea totally not griefing / potential scam.
you can’t sheep fellow faction mobs that are tagged.
There are no facts in the EULA. It’s all based on opinions when it comes to what is counted as unreasonable.
