Behaviour that intentionally detracts from others’ enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable. We expect our players to treat each other with respect, and promote an enjoyable environment. Acceptable behaviour is determined by player reports and Blizzard’s decision, and violating these guidelines will result in account and gameplay restrictions.
While we encourage you to report players that are behaving in a disrespectful manner, falsely reporting another player with the sole intent of restricting their gameplay is also unacceptable, and will result in penalties to your account.
If you’re unsure if your actions violate this code of conduct, reconsider them. We reserve the right to restrict offending accounts as much as necessary to keep Blizzard games a fun experience for all players.
Ok but nothing of that fits the behaviour of extortion for not killing a mob for profit.
It’s intentionally extortion with the reason to make gold by not killing an npc. It’s not an action intentionally done to “detracts from others’ enjoyment” even though that can be the result. But normal gameplay can lead to that and it’s really arbritary.
I think it’s fun and a clever way to play the game.
I mean a lot of things fit that description. Ninja items. Killing quest npcs. looting a chest next to someone in combat. Ninja tagging mobs. etc etc.
It’s really absurd to claim that it’s against the rules to kill an npc or ask for gold not to kill an npc because that’s what we are talking about here. Maybe if it’s gamebreaking and done over long periods if time and are targeted against a specific player it can be close to breaking the EULA.
Yes I can tell you are defending it you are not exactly subtle about it. However I am pretty sure the player that got extorted did NOT have fun. What that says about you is a different story however regardless of what you think of it it was NOT ok to do and it is a form of abuse.
