I know very few people that have that mount, most that dont have it cite the crafting requirement as the biggest reason.
I also gave up once i saw that the crafting thingy rep was required

In today’s busted economy; who in their right mind, even with change to spare, would pay this much for that mount?
AH (+ mailbox) is, for the majority of players, literally a HS away… and most got 3. Some classes/races even have access to HS + mail clone spells.
It’s a waste of money however you look at it… but more power to them, I guess.

I used to go out of my way to collect stuff but the past year I’ve slowly lost interest in doing that, my collection kinda doesnt mean anything to me anymore, raids and m+ are boring behond belief and without the carrot that I’d chase it no longer interests me, I wanted the stormcrow mount for many years when it was datamined back in like MoP and now it’s finally coming to the game i just do not care to do recycled content for a now recycled mount.
I started playing strictly for friends but even that has become a chore as i feel like my worth is directly tied to what i can get them.
Not sure if ill be back for future patches, game just isn’t fun anymore and they’ve killed that part of my brain that used to say “i need it” with b2b2b promotions for a region im not part of.
Same, cant speak for the rest. For me, I personally survived the game perfectly fine without it.
I just wish it came with one limitation - you can’t use it in cities. I mean there are already mailboxes and more than enough as well as AH. So no need to litter and grief the rest in cities by standing ontop of mailboxes and crafting stations.

I’ve had that thought as well, and found it rather curious. Because I also remember drooling over that mount when it was datamined years ago. And now that it’s actually coming my reaction is pretty “meh”.
So I’ve clearly changed a lot over the years, with regards to how I view mounts and cosmetics.
I can also see that on the Online Store page. I pretty consistently bought all the mounts and pets in the beginning, then there are some holes in the collection later on, and the more recent additions have been skipped entirely. And I of course didn’t buy the brontosaur.
Its a shame really, when it was datamined it was a cool and unique mount but since then there’s been 2 recolour of it released (3 if you include them shrinking it and releaseing it as a pet) so now it really is just the definition of meh.

mog mount basically lost its value after the transmog toy from the trading post.
with 15min cd the toy will serve all your needs, no requirement for the expensive mount anymore.
the biggest value mount is the rep mount and i am still astonished that lots of players apparently didnt buy it. it is not even expensive

Not interested in this mount because i got the brutosaur. But i do know a couple of players who bought this mount for about 2M gold.
Something is only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
At the price, it wasn’t aimed at everyone.
But clearly 5% of the player base felt it was worth that and as such have purchased it.
Compare it cars.
A Porsche costs way more than most cars.
They have way less a market share than 5%
But there is a percentage who feels they are worth the money.
That’s their target audience.
The Brute isnt aimed at everyone, it’s aimed at a small percentage that see value in it.
And given it cost them pretty much nothing to produce, or reproduce, it’s a win
I believe we fail each other as a species by refusing to shame those among us who make poor financial decisions.

You are correct. I’ve read a lot of nonsense here over the years. Thankfully, I’m there to bring some balance in this mess with my insightful takes.
In any case, anyone who ever does anything silly should be publicly mocked and ridiculed.

Personally I stopped during Shadowlands… It felt like they just added 30 new mounts each patch which were just re-colours… And I know previous expansions also had re-colours, but the difference (for me), is the method of obtainment.
Netherdrakes, Talbuks, the goat thingies from Argus, etc. etc. were almost all a “Unlock and purchase for gold” deal. Few were achievements… Now it feels like 10 re-colours are added, all from drop chances, achievements etc. making it a lengthy grind… And before you know it, BAM 40 new ones!
On top of this, MoP Remix and the speculation for further remix’ just made me lose complete interest… If it’s a mount I REALLY want or find cool like Siesbarg, I do go for it… But all the rep, RNG drop chance re-colour mounts I gave up on… Doesn’t feel satisfying to me anymore

I am one of those that feel that I never got the OG one because I did not want it back then and I have been fine without it. I don’t need the store one even though I can buy it with in game gold so I wont buy it. I don’t need it because a mailbox and AH is only 1 -3 hearths or 1 cloak away.
